South End Public Library (GSPL)

I went to the library for some piece and quiet so I could study without interruption since my daughter and grandson have moved in with us. What a disappointment! I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet! The nice librarian on the first floor even offered me a study room which I happily accepted. So I get to my study room downstairs, close the door behind me and get my laptop out and set up my study space. After I just get started I hear someone speaking very loud on a phone and can also hear the person he is speaking to. Turns out he is in the study room beside me as I can see through the window. I go speak to the librarian who is working on that floor and she brushes me off saying they use the study room for conferences etc. I gathered up my belongings and found that I could sill hear the man on the phone as I walked towards the far end of the library. I will give it one more try as I need to work on my courses. Since when have libraries allowed people to be so disrespectful?

Went to print a secured document. They provided a public computer and internet to print directly from and it is very affordable.

Nice library. I find that many of the people who visit this library are loud and disrespectful of people working. Staff do very little to address this. If you're looking for a quiet environment, I would suggest booking a study room or go elsewhere.

The Sudbury library is a beautifully designed and executed institution which caters to the local public. You can make use of the library for your children of all ages and also the grown ups. They have different sections for the different age categories. They have DVDs relating to movies , tv serials , travellogs , etc. The books of varied subjects available in the library. It is located in a convenient place with enough parking place for the visitors. The staff are very cooperative and guide you at every stage.

The study room policy is kind of crazy. To book a study room for my son to be tutored in I have to go in in person the day of and hope there is a room available.. The library does not open until '9 am and I am already at work. I have a tutor for him every week, at the exact same time on the exact same day. This is a very very inconvenient policy for people.

Friendly helpful staff. Good selection. Use of computers and wifi. Lots of DVDs and books also magazines.

Good selection of reading and entertainment materials but a little loud at times as is seems it is a quasi social club too.

Staff is very friendly and helpful but not as many options as I was expecting for the size if the building.

The best library in the city easily. Bright and modern decor. Baloncies for use in the summer. Good place to go to use a computer or access Wi-Fi and right on major bus routes.
