Husband of a previous reviewer here, just would like to put some facts in order.1. The reason we were stressed is because you pulled not one, but two major renovations on us while we were trying to move out. You took an entire bedroom and bathroom, and did not complete your renovations to your own time frame, and eventually just stopped giving us notice when workers would be in the unit or not. Because of this, we paid to have furniture hauled to the dump on short notice, had to clean and re-clean after the debris from the renovations, because if we didn't, we might have lost some of our damage deposit. Moving is stressful, but between the renovations outside and inside, Northpoint made it a nightmare.2. We lived there for three and a half years, not two. We can see you replying to every review on here, and even rating yourselves to up your overall score, but you don't even know how long your tenants have been with you, so please stop pretending to care to save face.3. Does Northpoint plan on acknowledging anytime soon, that my wife has served you twice with a tenancy board notice of hearing?I cannot make any clearer to whomever is reading the reviews for this company, to steer clear. I haven't met one neighbour who lived in my building, or the one adjacent, that enjoyed their time there. Every decision is made to save costs but improve the cosmetic appeal of the units and buildings. But when your units are water damaged, and holes in the foyer are left that way for years, and your parking lot is torn up just like your very limited grassy space, from the non stop construction to the buildings, it simply shows Northpoint does not care about its tenants.#patiodoortonowhere

I found out after leaving that I was living in an illegal unit at the 3103 property. The unit was a few steps below ground level making the windows (which faced the parking lot) the perfect height for the exhaust from all idling vehicles to flow directly into the apartment if our windows were open. Dangerous, to be blunt. I sincerely hope they do not have anyone living in this unit anymore.

I would not suggest renting from this company. They don't truly care about their tenants and just want money.I had a unit with them for 2 years, during that time there was extensive damage to my apartment from the tenants above me purposely flooding their bathtub with hot water. All the water poured out of the ceiling in my unit and the one below (we were in a three story building). We needed to move out of our apartment for the renovations. The renovations took 3 months, which is definitely a lot longer than it should've taken if they were actually proactive about the situation. They also required us to still pay rent during this time we could not live there. They said that's what insurance is for" even though insurance does not cover rent

Could not recommend these people more. Got to know the management team well, and they were literally the most accommodating people imaginable.Truly, if i wasn't moving away from Halifax, I wouldn't be leaving their building.If we had an issue, they got it taken care of ASAP. Within a day or two. Never more then that.Seriously, the reviews on this company are dead wrong. We had a lovely year with them.

I've never before seen a company that ruins their own units with every repair" job they do. Installing new windows

I rented from Northpoint for six years and always found the management a great mix of responsible, professional and respectful. I consider them the best landlords I have had. The location was excellent and the building fairly priced for the competitive Halifax rental market. My particular building was a bit shabby around the edges and had some quirks, but Northpoint's excellent service more than made up for that.

Do NOT rent from here. My unit had a huge rat problem, with rats climbing into the apartment from the TOILET. There was also a fly problem, I'd come home some days to 100's of flys buzzing around my apartment. When I first moved in, there were gaps about 2 or 3 inches between the floorboards, and bandaids stuck to the walls and floors. There was also a gut wrenching stench in the bathroom that lasted the 2 years I was there. The bathroom fan didn't work and it became overrun with a black mold infestation. Do NOT rent from here. You'd be better off renting a U-Haul van and living out of that. The staff were also very hands off and wouldn't help with any issues I was having.

Most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered as a renter. I applied to rent an apartment, and without my consent, they contacted my employer, but worse, asked my current employer what my biweekly salary was! So unprofessional. The girl on the phone said I implicitly consented to a salary check by listing my employer on my application to lease. Yikes. Huge red flag. Won't be renting from this sketchy company, and would recommend anyone who values professionalism to stay away. I'm not interested in the management's response or justification for their actions. The main point is that I submitted an application to lease, and several days later my employer asked why someone called asking them to report not only my employment status, but my earnings. Brutal.

I really enjoyed my time with Northpoint Properties! Whenever I had a maintenance request it was always done in a timely manner! They let me move in early for university which took a lot of stress away being an out of province student! The staff is very kind and helpful, I see a lot of nasty reviews on here and makes me wonder how they treated the staff if they treated you that way! I’ve always had very pleasant experiences with the staff! They even went as far to tape laundry tokens to my door because I forgot to buy them before a weekend and I was in class late! unfortunately, due to some circumstances which i had no control over I had to end my lease early! They were incredibly understanding and helpful in the entire process! 5713 was really a great spot and the staff were always friendly greeting me with a smile when I walked past the office door! Glen and Annette are wonderful!

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. Worst property management team in Halifax. After responding only 20 minutes after an ad posted online about a bachelor apartment and having already submitted my rental application, AND being told my application checks out/ looks good they told me to call back tomorrow to get damage deposit and first months rent in order. I expressed how Im a student looking for a place September 1st (keep in mind it is less than a week to September) and told them I will sign and give deposit now but they told me to wait until morning. I call back in the morning and they sold the unit to someone else. Now I am stuck with no place, when I was told that I was able to rent the unit. Very unprofessional.
