I switched my home insurance over to Stanhope Simpson Insurance Ltd over a year ago and couldn’t be more pleased with the outstanding customer service and assistance I have received from them. I recently purchased my first vehicle since arriving in Nova Scotia. Even in the middle of our Covid lockdown my agent Scott, along with the personal lines account manager Jennifer, made it all feel quite seamless. I know I can reach out to them with any questions or concerns and always receive a quick and very helpful response. It is the best insurance company I have ever worked with. They go that extra mile. We were in a huge panic when we were trying to find insurance for our new home. Other lenders just weren’t getting back to us and Hurricane Fiona made it so almost no insurers were able to do binding policies before our closing day. Jennifer M got us sorted so quickly even with the odds stacked against us and was able to find us a provider the same day so we could close on time. I called Stanhope-Simpson after having a very difficult time and getting the run around by a couple of larger national insurance companies. Christine was very understanding and was able to work with me to solve the personal home insurance related pickle I was in. On top of that she gave very frank, honest advice around insurance policies. 10/10 recommendation, would highly recommend for anyone looking for home insurance.

I told them I can arrange payment 2 days after the due date. Instead of taking my payment 2 days late they cancelled my policy and left me unable to get insurance anywhere else. They will black list you and make derogatory marks on your insurance profile if you don't pay on the exact date they demand. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!

From the start it has been a complicated process to get insurance with them. We started the process in December but than Christmas came so they were on holidays. After that in January they changed the person assigned to us because the original person I believe left the company and we had to start all over again.They gave my sister and I a family discount to after remove it without any explanation. The estimations given to myself and my sister than DOUBLED when it was time to sign.Always last minute and they aren’t considerate of your time. I work 9-5 and they would contact me during my work hours so I was unavailable and this lead to a very SLOW and delayed response from both parties.After negotiations, they finally nudged a little bit and we purchased insurance with them.THAN, After only one month with them, and being new to Halifax needing insurance before being able to get my immatriculation, I was in the process of getting my vehicle registered and my 2019 vehicle didn’t pass inspection because of a small crack in my windshield cause by me earlier this month changing my wiper.They than responded by saying my insurance would go up, even if we have already signed an agreement for 1 year, and I feel it is because they didn’t want to pay the deductible agreed in my insurance contract after only one month with them.HORRIBLE experience and I have had vehicles for 9 years now and NEVER have I had problems like this.They are only there to squeeze the last penny out of you even when you are doing everything they demand.
