Kinsmen Park & Playground

This is basically the best park in Ladysmith. Three out of four seasons of the year I find it too breezy down at Transfer Beach for the kids, so this park is just perfect as it's nestled next to a wooded area.There is a super clean single bathroom with running water. There is a nearby trail with a Storybook Walk that is a MUST TRY!There are benches to sit on and picnic tables to eat at. There is also a small stream for bigger kids to play in the middle of a large field.Just check it out for yourself, it's worth the drive. =)

Layout is well designed.Good for toddlers and climbers. Only thing the playground is missing is swings for older childern. Also has near by trails for adventurers.

Beautiful playground. Great equipment for all ages and spread out over a large area. Has picnic tables, a bathroom with sink, benches and is gated. Has a large field with a creek, and a forest area with trails.

Awesome playground with 2 sides to it. Kids had a blast there and worth the drive down from Nanaimo. Large field and a forested trail area with a storybook walk.

Pretty good little park for the kiddos. Access to the trails from the park is nice .

Really awesome little park, just stumbled upon it on a family drive to Ladysmith. It Has an out house with running water and flush toilet which is neat, but I don't know if the water is drinkable or potable also there's no soap but there is sanitizer. If you choose to use the water there's also no paper towels or hand dryers here. There are two parts of the playground here, one for smaller kids and one for slightly larger kids. There's lots of picnic tables and a big big field for kids to run around. The park has a good mixture of older wooden playground equipment and newer stuff it reminds me of the playgrounds we used to have when I was a child. There's a small Creek that runs through the middle of the park which is kind of neat for the kids to look at and a little bit of a teachable moment showing the kids some of the bugs and life forms that live in a creek ( Also good for looking for trolls although we didn't find any) I believe there may be some walking trails but I didn't get to explore that far into the bush but the park backs onto a forested area. Overall this is a really nice little park and it really quiet little family neighborhood. We will definitely be coming back to have many family picnic such as Park there's even a lot of room if you wanted to have a gathering and set up a shelter of some sort but I would check with the city first.
