Not a welcoming or friendly experience...as Indigenous person with friends and family buried here, I was hurt and disappointed that there was no one to chat with or talk to or anything...just this monument.I had hoped for more.....at least for our own.Heart broken and still here.

Such a beautiful natural, location, yet juxtaposed with a blanket of solemnity and grief over the place.The building/museum was closed indefinitely when I visited in October.There was a place outside where people could leave expressions of respect and grieving, and/or pray.As an Indigenous person, it was difficult for me to visit there--but absolutely necessary as part of my healing journey.

How can one rate this National tragedy? Nonetheless, it was important to visit and spend time thinking about the 215 little lives, and so many more, who suffered. The monument brought me to tears and while the school was closed, taking the time to honour those children was important to us.
