I was happy with this unit but soon after the warranty expired, there was a small smoldering electrical fire in the rheostat switch that controls fan speed. It did not set off our smoke detector. There was only a strange smell that slowly got worse and worse. The fumes made my wife ill for many hours. When contacting customer service, they pulled every BS tactic there is to shirk responsibility for what I repeatedly expressed as a dangerous situation. Blows my mind. This probably has happened before and will happen again. AirPura offered to look at the unit and repair the unit at our cost, which would be quite costly (shipping, parts, labour). So the unit now acts as a very expensive small table on wheels.

Product gives off a very weird smell. I’m not able to use the product. I spoke to customer service and they said they were working on a fix. This fix took them months and then the fix was for me to buy a $500 new filter which they said addresses the smell issue. That is half the price of the unit. I’m not sure why I would have to pay to fix an issue with their product that they knew about. Now I have a very expensive piece of machinery that just sits in a closet and can’t be used. Very disappointed with the product and service. I highly recommend NOT purchasing their products.
