First time at a Caribbean restaurant. So not sure what to expect. We had wings which were good. Then had the special meal for 2 which included paties, rice and chicken pieces. Paties were really good. The chicken was actually not really great as the chicken was burnt but I guess that maybe a thing since most others chicken was of similar way. Desert n Drinks were ok too. Fries were extremely oily. . Overall bill of 75$. I’d certainly call it expensive

Haven’t enjoyed an experience along with excellent food like this in quite a while.Besides the delicious Haitian and Caribbean style fusion menu, the small cozy vibe and the friendliness of the staff and the owner is something you don’t see a lot of anymore. It felt very home-y and they patiently explained some of the menu items and seemed delighted to do the explaining, rather than annoyed.Try the griot poutine or sandwich and the fried shrimp starters, get some extra aioli sauce and make sure to try out one of the classic drinks that are typical of Haiti and the Caribbean. We will surely be back shortly!Edit: Went back, got the same warm and family-like service and vibe as our first time. This time we went with a group of about a dozen - everyone enjoyed their food, the experience and most of all the people who run this place. Hats off. Highly recommended!

Excellent food and service. Owner chatted with us, explaining the concept and inspiration for their food. I would highly recommend this place if you want a tasty Haitian meal. Grillot was cooked perfectly, as well as the rice and plantain. Will certainly go back. Just 45 seconds away from Place St-Henri metro station!

Love this place. Certainly not your traditional haïtien casse-croûte but I love the ambiance. It feels like a place you go to when you are overseas. The griot is different, less fatty for sure, they made that choice, but the flavours are there. The portions are well balanced too and I’m always discovering new drinks. You should definitely come here for a good casual time :)

Not bad but definitely not great for the price.Cons: We were imposed group menu which is deceiving, we had already planned to eat kabrit and banan since we do don't eat pork nor rice however we were served several bowls of porc with very little kabrit with no plantains. Service needs to be addressed and Pikliz should be provided as a condiment on the table with akkra from the start, how is it that we get a tiny thing of Pikliz for 4 when the restaurants name is Pikliz... lolPros: Salad was delicious, kabrit was nicely cooked, presentation was nice, cute decor, clean bathroom (smells good) although I'm not a fan of akkra because I find it to be too greasy I was still able to appriciate its flavour and subtle spice taste. Would have been great with pikliz on the side, aïoli was tasty.Overall impression; Salade was the best part! Cute decor/atmosphere with a story, service needs much improvement, highly overpriced (group menu) for what I ate.

I had a wonderful evening in this restaurant yesterday with my two friends. I first came across this restaurant through poutineweek and was finally able to come here after saving it on my list of restaurants to try. The menu is easy to understand, and the food is great : we all liked our dishes. The riz colé lacked a bit of flavor, but the griot was good. The manager (girl) with green hair saw that we were struggling with choosing our dishes and didn’t hesitate to recommend her favorites to us : she was very outspoken, friendly and cool. Will definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again.

After many, many attempts over the span of two years to visit @pikliz we finally made it! It was definitely worth the wait as we got to sample their newly created cocktail menu. Decorated with alluring colours, big plants/vines, interesting paintings and a whole bunch of personal pictures that give it that extra warm, welcoming and genuine vibe. The same energy radiates from the owners, who upon meeting, you'll feel like you've known for years.Rooted in influences passed down by family (say it with the Vin Diesel voice) every dish is  meticulously created and thought out in detail. It's clear their goal is to show us the full beauty of their cuisine. We tried a lot and all of it was wonderful.  Exquisitely cooked, tender, juicy meat, delcious crispy shrimp, even crisper plantain chips... It goes on.We can't really explain in writing how much we enjoyed ourselves but we strongly encourage you to go and see for yourselves.

I had never tried Caribbean food before, and it was excellent. I preferred the shrimp combo more than the chicken one. The shrimp are much meatier and chunkier than what is typically served in restaurants. The addition of the rice (cooked in chicken broth) was an excellent addition. Other than that, plantains are tasty. The macaroni salad and plantains can be switched. If you want to try something new, here is the place to go.
