I first loved what I saw on their website. But once we submitted our quote request the information came back curt and without any details. The follow up calls just kept getting worse as the rep just got more rude and arrogant to the point where she hung up on me.To me customer service speaks volumes and no amount of “difficulty due to the pandemic” is justification enough to treat your customer this way.Will never buy from.

Good lumber, great service and a good price.I have dealt with Sawmill Sales Direct a couple of times. The first time I was ordering a number of longer 1x12's in yellow cedar for board and batten exterior. It took a couple of weeks because of the nature of the order (larger pieces) and it was in the middle of the pandemic.The next time I needed 14 - 8' - 1x6's to finish off a project. I was in a bit of a rush and they were able to have them ready for me in a few hours. (Usually they require at least a days notice but they were very awesome and helped me out)Both times I was very happy with the communication, the lumber prices were competitive and the quality of the lumber was good.That said, I have a couple tips for first time buyers:1) Their prices are for rough cut lumber. There's going to be variability in thicknesses. I've found most pieces to be pretty close but you can get the odd piece that can be up to an 1/8 plus or minus.If your project requires equal/finished lumber thicknesses you need to use a jointer/planer to finish the wood after purchase.2) They are happy to answer questions via phone but they prefer to do actual orders via email. Those orders can take 1 day to a few weeks to fill depending on the size/complexity of the order. So plan ahead and order early if you need it sooner."

When a local elementary school needed donations, Rick stepped up the plate and provided more than we could ask for, without hesitation. Many grateful kids get to do some woodwork thanks to the generosity of Sawmill Direct. Personally, the product from here is in my kitchen table, my fence, my woodshed and my garden. Great prices, great people, and community supporters. Louise and the team at Sawmill Sales Direct were nothing short of amazing to deal with. They offered prompt service, excellent quality red cedar, and delivery. What more could we ask for? We wanted a huge amount of red cedar to frame in raised beds on our farm and with the project now complete, and the smell of cedar in the air, we look forward to working with sawmill sales direct in the future.
