A Portuguesa Bakery

A small and newly opened cafe. Maybe good for a small pick up and takeouts. Not appealing for a sit down conversation cafeteria. Entrance is not appealing.

Local. Handmade. Attention to detail. They do what the other bakeries can't. Quite honestly this raises my property value as a legit establishment. Whoever is making these pastries is an artist.

Lovely bakery and fantastic customer service. We popped in today for a few treats including their veggie pizza bun and assorted tarts. Everything was delicious and fresh. Our new favourite spot!

I ordered a tray of sandwiches for a get together. They were delicious and nicely presented. I don’t know what the mayo sauce is they put on them but it was really tasty. To top it off, the people who helped me when I placed my order really knew how to provide top rate customer service. I believe they were the owners but I’m not sure. They were so pleasant to deal with it really makes us want to return. We didn’t order any of the pastries but they have a great selection and my husband said he’s looking forward to trying ALL of them. We’ll definitely be visiting the bakery again!!

I can't give this place enough stars!!The Pastel De Nata -- aka Custard Tarts aka Portuguese tarts -- are the best you'll ever have!! Mine were still warm! You can literally hear the flakiness of the crust as you bite into the deeply flavourful, velvety custardiness!The Plain Butter tarts are the perfect combination of a buttery, flakey crust, and a rich, caramelly, sweet (but not too sweet) ooey, gooey, deeply buttery filling that spills out into your pie (I mean tart) hole!And the service is amazing! The owner, Maria De Sousa, is as sweet and awesome as her treats!In fact, you may know her and her husband, Mario, from the St. Jacob's Farmers Market!I bet you've waited in super long lines on Thursdays and Saturdays for her tarts before! And now you don't have to limit yourself to twice a week!I know I won't! LOL!Update June 3, 2023:The Brownie is to die for! Do not leave without buying one or more!It's very chocolatey, fudgey, dense, and decadent! The chocolate frosting is so silky smooth, rich, and not at all icing sugary! It was literally dripping on my face like melted chocolate! OMG!I also got the carrot cake, which was moist, but the icing was a little to icing sugary for me. I prefer a strong cream cheese frosting. But that's not for everyone! I just don't love icing sugar! Hahahaha!

Being a local resident, I've visited this bakery a handful of times now. Each time I've tried a few different items, all of which have been so fresh, and delicious! This past weekend I took my in-laws and they couldn't believe the quality, and selection for such reasonable prices (highly recommend the Brazilian chicken balls)! Service has always been great, many smiles all around. I've been lucky, as I've barely ever had to wait long in line. The way I see it though, I'm happy if the line is long, as it means this local business is doing well! Happy to have such a gem in West Galt! Can't wait to return again soon!

The BEST pastel de natas I've ever had. They were served warm out of the oven and so crispy on the outside. Great customer service from friendly staff

Very nice bakery. Lots of selection for its size! Usually a line up, but had 3 staff members working to counter, so it wasn't a long wait. Definitely will be back.
