Fournier Finishing

Alex refinished the floors and stairs in our older character home, and installed a couple of railings in staircases. He was fantastic to deal with: super friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. We were a little unsure about the stains / finish we wanted, but Alex was extremely accommodating as we made our decision, and suggested an approach that would help us match the tone of two different kinds of wood in different rooms. He also managed to almost entirely eliminate some bad damage to the floor in one room. We are extremely happy with the results — the 100-year-old floors look like new! I would not hesitate to recommend Alex's services.

We have hardwood flooring in our house from different periods of times and we would like to restore them altogether. Alex listened carefully to what we need and had done a great job. We had this old furnace grille which didn't work anymore. Alex was able to patch with a mixture of old and new wood materials to blend in with the wood pattern of the rest of our house. What an artwork! We are very happy with the work and we will definitely recommend him to anyone with hardwood flooring refinishing and/or repairing needs!

Alex’s efficient, effective approach to his profession is refreshing. Alex is clearly talented. He knows what he is doing, works to code , is creative to solve problems , is great to work with and doesn’t make a project take any longer than it has to. Alex did a great job on two of our staircases along with some stairwell trim and a damaged floor.The colours matched exactly and the damage was completely invisible after the repair. He was able to identify the different colours by eyeballing it as we did not have samples to provide him.He is also very personable and easy to talk to.We would definitely use his Services again and recommend him.

We live in a turn of the century heritage home, where the flooring and stairs were much in need of restoration. Alex impressed us time and time again with his meticulous attention to detail—from the removal/reinstallation of intricate inlays to replacing entire stair-treads to match the original wood/finish—his work was impeccable. We were especially happy with the refinishing of the main floor, which seemed to breathe new life into our home. Alex was very professional, honest, and patient through the entire process, and we would recommend him to anyone seeking high-quality work!

I can't say enough about the refinishing job that Alex did for us! Our floors were quite worn, with almost 25 years of daily traffic from kids and the dog. But when we saw the final result, it was as though we had installed brand new hardwood. He even made sure to keep the baseboards from getting damaged during sanding. Alex refinished our hardwood staircase and replaced all of the spindles in the staircase with nice black metal spindles. He did a terrific job and we are extremely happy with the quality of work that he provided. We are in a full home renovation and have worked with many contractors on the full home. None have come across as well as Alex has impressed us. His quote for the estimate of cost was bang on. He started the project on time for when he said he would. He put in really long days to ensure he completed it when he said he would. He is also very personable and friendly which goes a long way compared to others we have worked with. It was a true pleasure working with Alex and would refer him to anyone. Great job Alex!

We hired Alex to install new handrails on a couple of stair cases and a full replacement of the railings on our main entrance staircase. He came in with a good quote, he gave us a heads up on arrival time everyday, gave a daily heads up on what he would be doing that day, at the end of each day he cleaned up the site area which I was particularly impressed with. At the end of the project he took care of dumping all the old material, plus gave us the opportunity to fix any other lingering tasks while he had the tools out. We ended up also getting our pony walls recapped along with fixing some damaged crown moulding from prior renovations. We’d highly recommend Alex and are planning to use him again later in the year for some other projects.

Alex redid our floor and our stair railing seen below. His work was excellent and he was prompt and efficient. When some blemishes occurred as a result of other contractors, he refinished the blemished areas to perfection. Alex was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him to anyone requiring flooring refinishing or stairway reconstruction.
