J Farwell Sailing Tours

We absolutely loved our sail! We were really concerned when we first saw the boat because we could only see two small benches and there were 12 people boarding....it looked like seating for half that many... don't let ot fool you though, there is a hinged mechanical bench that comes up on the end that made it fit 12 comfortably. The crew were fantastic and we 100% recommend this tour.

My boyfriend and I set sail on the wine and cheese sunset cruise around the middle of May. Somehow, we lucked out and were the only 2 (other than the crew) on board. Every member of the crew was so kind, friendly, and personable; and the wine and charcuterie boards were fantastic. Our favourite was the Tidal Bay. We sailed around the Harbour and beyond, enjoying the views that Halifax had to offer. But, the crew went above and beyond, by allowing us to go onto the bow for some pictures and to videotape our surpise enagement. Thank you to the crew of JFarwell for making our night one to remember!I would highly recommend this charter for any romantic moment you have planned.

I would actually rate my experience as a 6/5! I chartered the Beneteau yacht for a 2-hour corporate outing and what an amazing experience. We were 9 people and opted for the Tidal Bay wine tasting which we really enjoyed. The crew were super friendly and they allowed me to participate in some of the tasks. The whole team was raving about it for several days after the fact. I wish I could recall the names of the crew to give them kudos directly. Thank you for being fun and informative and helping us make memories.

Easy booking and a great price! We arrived 10 minutes before sail off and the crew and captain were great!! We had our two young boys and my 8 yo got to pull up the sails and help steer. They taught us about sailing while enjoying the harbor. I highly recommend this tour group! Such a blast and made us super comfortable on the sailboat.

We had visitors over from the UK and thought it would be a great idea to show them some Nova Scotia Hospitality and coastline in one fail swoop.Captain Mark and his crew where amazing. With local Tidal Bay wines and a selection of cheese, salami and olives it was an extremely civilized trip out into Halifax Harbour. It was unfortunate that the fog started rolling in and we weren't able to get into the North West Arm but sailing around the Islands was a delight. One that I'm sure we'll repeat in the future.Thank you for a wonderful afternoon's entertainment.

Great value for an outstanding experience. Staff is fantastic and fun, and wine/chaucuterie really hit the spot. The Benetau is a lovely and luxurious yacht with plenty of space and room to move even with a full party. Definitely head down inside and enjoy the interior a bit too! Highly recommend the sunset cruize as you get a lovely sunset and Halifax's nighttime skyline invites you back to the pier. Cant beat the location either for embarking! We constantly bring up Farwell as something we have to do again!

Sailing with J Farwell was the highlight of our stay in Halifax. We had a great wind and a sunny day. It was a delight to tack across the harbour, sail ‘wing on wing’ towards the mouth and pass by George’s island and a container ship. The boat handled beautifully and the staff were terrific. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Due to a very unfortunate and lengthy delay in our flight, we were going to miss our sailing tour. We emailed the company and immediately got a response back from Sarah - president/partner of J Farwell Sailing Tours. She was so understanding and offered us an alternative tour and time that worked with our schedule. She took care of all the rescheduling promptly - it required zero effort on our part. We ended up upgrading to the Sunset Wine and Cheese Sail which was absolutely wonderful. The crew were incredibly welcoming and the wine was great! The perfect way for my partner and I to celebrate our engagement. We are planning to go back and rent a private tour with friends! A huge thank you to the team at J Farwell and the biggest thank you to Sarah for providing the best customer service I have ever experienced. 11/10 recommend.

Awesome trip. Highly recommended. We had a beautiful day for a sail. The trip included a rescue operation for a small personal sailboat that had flipped out by George's Island, and also a cruise past a submarine - whose crew was standing on deck. Two memorable events! The boat is beautiful, the crew was awesome, and the wine was nice!

this is the neatest ever. its about 1.5 hrs long and they let you get involved with pulling the ropes for the sails and steering the boat! the crew is super friendly and informative. yes i would definately recommend coming here. you will want to schedule it sooner than later because it gets booked up pretty quickly.
