About the Business

Basin Head Provincial Park | Tourism PEI | The Basin Head Day Park features a supervised beach, fisheries museum, play area, on-site concessions, washroom and shower facilities. The beach is supervised and split into two sections, divided by a channel, known locally as “the run.” The pure white sand of the area is geologically unique. Because it actually "sings" when stepped on due to its high silica content, the beach is nicknamed "the Singing Sands".

Beautiful views and very clean sea water here at this beach. You can enjoy seeing Cruise ships passing by not by far. Well maintained washrooms plus changing rooms, showers are on site. Walking on the sand is unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

One of the best parks I've seen. Great beach, river and facilities. Picturesque and calming. Great for families. They call it the singing sands because the sand squeaks when you walk on it! Beautiful place

You will not have the place to yourself in summer, but you will have access to a long, soft and squeaky beach! (Drag your feet in the dry sand...)The canteen up top has amazing fries, the water was clear and cool!Be sure to pick up your garbage!

Good parking and access. All the buildings were closed however, which seems odd in late June. Very scenic; seems you can walk east until the end of the earth. The sand is soft, clean, and very few insects.

Beautiful spot in the winter. Over crowded in the summer. The beach is split in 2, with a bridge covered in kids jumping off it to span to get to the singing sands" and people jammed into every inch of the first 200 meters

Beautiful beach and some water activities are there. Some people are diving at the famous bridge above the channel, but be aware of the safety although life guards are there. Cafe is available. Washing facilities are also ready for people after their water's activities.

I loved this place. It was calm and peaceful with almost no people at the end of June. It was fun walking in the middle section of sand)not to wet or too dry) and shuffling or stomping our feet. The sand makes a weird sound, but it was fun to do.
