Hillcrest Progressive School

Hillcrest is the most special of places. What sets it apart from other preschools is the beautiful grounds, which includes a pool in the summer time and two expansive playgrounds, a bridge and tunnel as well as a caring and experienced staff and administration and a ton of specialty programs for the children - sports, drama, language to name a few. I would highly recommend this school where everyone knows my child’s name.

After visiting quite a few preschools around the neighborhood, Hillcrest Progressive speaks itself from its friendly staff and lots of outdoor spaces. I can tell both my kids are having lots of fun at school. They are demanding to go to school everyday!PS. This is also a great school for summer camp, especially for those younger ages. Low teacher to student ratio and two times outdoor swimming everyday!

Hillcrest is a magical place for our son both during the year and at camp. I went 35 years ago, so I'm so thrilled he gets to experience everything I did and more. The staff, teachers and grounds all exceed our expectations and give us the confidence our little guy is well taken care of. Thank you so much Hillcrest!

Hillcrest Progressive School is such an amazing and incredible place for young kiddos. From the school year to the summer programs there truly is something for every parent looking for something to engage their 18months- to 5 year olds. This place has taken amazing care my little one, and I have seen my son grow more and more into the incredible person he’s meant to become. It takes really special people to take care of children and love them as their own. Hillcrest has helped my son develop fundamental skills, overcome challenges, and encouraged him to grow more and more confident with every minute he's been at the school. We started with camp at two years old and I was thrilled with being able to seamlessly transition to school in September. From his speech to his social skills to watching him try new things, it's because of the care of not just his teachers, but the incredible environment Hillcrest has created. I heard about how amazing the school was before we enrolled, and it has been the best decision we have ever made! I look forward to seeing him grow and learn more and more each day, because I know he's in excellent hands! I absolutely the facility but the outdoor play area is AMAZING! Nothing compares to it in the city. Thank you so much for starting his fundamental years with not just fun, but with great education as well.

I've sent both of my children to Hillcrest from the age of 2. Leaving your kids with someone for the first time is always hard but the teachers at Hillcrest made the transition very easy - for both my kids and me! They are so kind and loving. It really does feel like a home away from home! My kids love going to school everyday and are excited to tell me about their day when I pick them up. I am the drama, dance, and music teacher at Hillcrest Progressive School. What a fantastic environment to work in and I look forward to seeing smiles whenever I walk through the door. The staff is amazing and the children inspire me every day. My passion is to encourage the children at Hillcrest to use their imagination and express themselves creatively. I am so excited to showcase our end of the year show of 'The Lion King'!

I feel extremely fortunate to have found Hillcrest before relocating to Toronto several years ago. Both of my sons have thrived in this warm and nurturing environment. The teachers are outstanding, especially Mrs. Metcalfe and Mrs. Javier. I feel completely at ease dropping my son off each day where he is thoroughly cared for and academically stimulated. The outside grounds in picturesque Hogg's Hollow are unrivalled. They also recently opened a beautiful library and indoor gym that enhances the school's many assets.

Attending Hillcrest has been such a positive experience for our son and we're looking forward to our daughter starting there for the upcoming school year. The breadth of activities, the curriculum and the expansive outdoor play area set Hillcrest apart from the other options we were considering. The teachers and administrative staff are engaging and approachable. The summer camp program is also amazing in that the kids get to swim everyday. I would highly recommend Hillcrest to any family looking to start their child's education in a positive way.
