I'm not sure how it rates as a venue but the pierogies on Wednesday are outstanding. Arrive early because they tend to sell out quickly.

I'm very proud to be a parishioner of St Vladimirs Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Because, they've done so many great things in the Ukrainian communities of Windsor and Detroit and ukrainian communities everywhere. And most of the Hlynka family that is still alive today are Ukrainian Orthodox. Like my grandfather Isydore Hlynka said when he was alive that the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches worldwide supported Ukraine than the Ukrainian Catholic Church. And today, they still are. They had the ability to support Ukraine when they were first founded in 1927. And I'm proud to say that they're still doing it. They've done so many wonderful events where some of the money goes to the church and some of it to Ukraine. And they're still doing these events. If any ukrainian immigrant in Windsor and Essex County wishes to be a member of a true Ukrainian church and organization in Windsor and Essex County, I recommend St Vladimirs Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. They're the most supportive Ukrainian church and organization that is able to support Ukraine in all of Windsor and Essex County compared to other Ukrainian churches and organizations in Windsor and Essex County. If you're a Ukrainian immigrant and non Ukrainians make fun of you and or don't like you or try not to like you for who you are, then St Vladimirs is the place for you. Because, here in St Vladimirs we learn on how we can and be able to try to get these non ukrainians to stop making fun of us and our culture and to get them to like and love us for who we are. Because the Ukrainian culture and heritage is a precious gem that we Ukrainians are born with . And we Ukrainians are not to waste that. We Ukrainians are supposed to love it and cherish it. Ukrainians and myself are not bad people. We ukrainians and myself are good people and no one has the right to call a Ukrainian and me a bad person. Because, whoever calls a Ukrainian and me a bad person for no reason is considered discriminating. Glory to Ukraine. Glory to its heroes. Slava Ukrayiny. Heroyam Slava.

Attended a wedding in the basement. Great venue. Staff was excellent and attentive. Bar staff was a bit snarky but it was an open bar and I wouldn't want that job myself. On the way there my mom joked that we would be getting pierogies. I figured there was no way. Sure enough, along with the usual chicken, beef and pasta we were served pierogies.

I'm not a member of this congregation, but I do know many of their parishioners. Every Wednesday and Friday they sell pirogy's and cabbage rolls which are excellent.Every Lenten season I attend the pysanky (Ukranian Easter egg) classes. The ladies that run these classes are wonderful.
