Alberta Hardwood Flooring (Calgary)

Terrible Experience! Avoid this business. We ordered some VP that we saw advertised at a discount on their website. I called the store and spoke to a sales person who said the product was overstock, I was told it was just over stock and there were no issues with the flooring. We ordered the overstock at $2.50 sq/ft (229 sq ft) and then we then decided to order additional regular stock flooring (500 sq/ft) at the full price of $7.58 a sq/ft. We picked up the flooring and the discounted flooring was unboxed and wrapped in plastic and damaged. The flooring was bent, cracked and chipped. I contacted the sales person and she said she would contact the owner. I was then told it was sold AS IS, and it was an outlet product. I was never told this was an outlet product. I was only told it was overstock not pieces from work sites. I was never told it was damaged and basically unusable. We are renovating our house in BC and our house here in Calgary. We will not be purchasing anything from this company ever and we will be sharing with everyone we know to avoid this business.

Our salesmen Larry was terrible. After taking the deposit he advised we needed to spend thousands of dollars to repair the floor. We were told the install would take 2 weeks. It has been 1 1/2 months. Calls to the Salesmen were not returned and completion times were pushed back multiple times. We discovered the people who installed the flooring were not from Alberta Hardwood but contractors. The salesmen did not do what he advised he would do.

AB Hardwood completed the flooring in my house and they did an excellent job. I have kept the humidity within the manufacturer's recommended percentages, and my floors look amazing after almost seven years! Their customer service also excellent. They always respond quickly and thoroughly to any question I pose to them.

We had a wonderful experience here! Dean was outstanding and helped us find something within our budget. He never pressured us, unlike several other flooring stores, and he was so genuine and honest. We will refer everyone to get their flooring from here!

Dean at Alberta Hardwood was incredible to work with, and gave us 5/5+ service through out the entire process. We replaced over 2000 sq feet or flooring in our home (Mirage engineered hardwood, carpet, and tile), and Dean was excellent to deal with from the very first meeting all the way through to the installation. He was personally at our home every day during the demo of the existing floor, and install of all the new flooring, and not a single detail was overlooked. Their installation team was top notch, and the job they did on the install was immaculate. The job started on-time and was completed on-time with no issues. We attribute this to the high standards AB hardwood has for their sub contractors, and that Dean was present each day at the job site to check the progress. We highly recommend Dean and AB Hardwood, and will use them again on our next renovation project.

Not impressed! I purchased a home that’s less than a year old and the builder said Alberta Hardwood were the suppliers and installers of the flooring in this home. Once I moved in, I noticed spots in the flooring that needed repair. Their vinyl planking is breaking and the installation was subpar at best. I called them to ask if I can purchase another box to do these repairs and it’s going on two weeks where no one has called me. I keep calling and I’m told a guy named Larry is supposed to call me back. Well… nothing yet. I’m done chasing you. Although my house is still under warranty, I wouldn’t let them near here. So I went out to another flooring company and purchased all new flooring where they actually called me back.

I love working with Alberta Hardwood here in Calgary! I can't say enough about the staff (beyond amazing) and their passion for doing a job right. Amazing products that work in Calgary's Climate.Can't wait for the new showroom too!

Honestly I have been in here 4 times now and the staff are so helpful and nice. They are super patient and really knowledgeable, tons of selection and really relaxed atmosphere. On top of it being so great I also got a brownie there, literally the best brownie I have ever had! Thanks :)

Dean was so excellent with communication and very helpful with the selection process. Dean made sure we were getting the the beat value for money. We would recommend and use Alberta Hardwood Flooring again.
