I've stayed at Moda hotel many times now and finally feel that I should give a shout out to the staff for consistently being so great. Everyone working is always so friendly at check in, and will let me check in early if the room is available which I am so grateful for after a long day of traveling. If the room isn't ready they'll let you store your luggage so you can go around the city while you wait. Anytime coming or going from the hotel or passing housekeeping staff, you're always greeted with a smile and hello. From all the places to stay in the city this one stands out for service. Location is great for walking around and while rooms are not so modern, they are clean and have character. I usually find it at a great price and choose to come back because of the staff and location.

Loved this little hotel. All the staff were very friendly. The location is quite central—only about 15 min to Gastown and only 20min from the airport, also close to the train station. I got the room that’s one level up from the mini room but only because I was planning to work from my room. Assuming that the mini room would have been just fine as well. Good shower, safe and coffee maker, as well as a mini fridge (empty) in the room. They have 3 restaurants attached to the hotel—one is an Italian spot (Uvo?), seemed a bit more casual and had amazing cappuccino, another one seemed more like a « white cloth » dinner type of place and the third one was a sports bar. There’s also a liquor store next door.

A really nice stay! The room was small but cozy - not cramped at all - and had all the comforts you'd expect. Really, my only complaint is about the sound. I knew I was staying in the city center, so I expected the sounds of the road and things outside but the walls are thinner than I expected. I could hear the folks next door, across the hall, and upstairs during the night and it was a bit annoying. Otherwise, great location - really walkable area with lots of options for shopping, food, and drinks nearby. Overall, a lovely stay!

Would not recommend. Terrible customer service and room conditions! Staff were very unfriendly.Had 4 travelers in a room with two double beds. Upon check in I was told there would be a charge of 40$/night per person as the booking was only for two people. This charge is unnecessary and complete price gouging. When I am already paying $460 for a room with plenty of deficiencies, this fee is another reason to never choose this hotel again. Upon checkout the staff informed me they withheld my damage deposit because they wanted to verify" there was not more than two people who stayed in the room. The bathroom door in the bedroom would not close

I was a bit surprised at how expensive Vancouver hotels are (after staying in multiple hotels in the US, Australia, and Japan on the same trip). Moda Hotel was one of the more appropriately priced hotels in Vancouver. I thought it was more than adequate for our needs. It's within walking distance to other downtown locations and also isn't far from the Vancouver City Center metro stop.

I’m not sure where the nice rooms from the photos are but I did not get one. Mine was a bit run down. The rooms are above a bar so it’s noisy. And the neighbourhood … well let’s say that social services has their hands full - but that’s not the hotel’s fault. For the price a customer deserves much better. A 2 star hotel at best but with a 4 star price tag.

Nice, older hotel in Downtown Vancouver. Great walkable location. Easy distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and transit. Rooms have a very European feel-- simple and small.

We stopped in for a quick bite at the Cocktail Bar: Hands down, the BEST pizza I have eaten in recent memory. As a lunch special for only $9.00 I was impressed with not only the flavors but the size too! Our waitress went above and beyond for us ensuring an excellent dining experience. We will be back!

Beds were very uncomfortable. The room was really small. The location was decent, just safety for my rental vehicle was sketchy.. The hotel was very expensive, after we found a hotel on the harbour front for cheaper with an ocean view. I don't recommend this hotel. If they upgraded their beds, that would be a help for them.
