Holiday Inn Express & Suites Halifax - Bedford, an IHG Hotel

Always stay at IHG as it’s my hotel chain of choice for business trip. Forgot couple micro brewery beers in the fridge.. Enough to want them back. Realized it 30-45 min after checking out around 8h30-45 AM and called the front desk. They picked my name and room number in note saying that they would call me if they find them. Never heard of them..Obviously, someone found them and keep them as it’s so easy to just say they weren’t there. On my way back to New-Brunswick, I stopped by and still no sign of that as per front desk. Even if I stay 30+ nights per year at IHG, won’t stay at this location again as I don’t feel comfortable letting stuff in my room at this hotel anymore.

Extremely friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere! Location was ideal - theres lots in Bedford area but we were also a short drive to Halifax and Dartmouth.Room was spacious and very clean. Kid-friendly hotel- staff welcomed our hockey team of 10year olds. They loved the pool & slide. Will definitely return!

So, we have stayed here multiple times. At least five for a total of 10+ days, if not more. We have always enjoyed our stay.Breakfast is included, and mediocre at best. The eggs and sausages gets old quick but you can't beat the price.Over the years the hotel is starting to show its age.The staff has always been great and the hotel is dog friendly.

We stayed two nights this past week with our hockey team. I can understand that hockey teams can be hard to manage at times. However, they singled our group out of the start. Asked me to go check on the nightmare" of kids I had left in my room for 5 minutes. So I did so willingly. All the kids were fine

Specifically booked this hotel because the website led us to believe there was a lovely hot tub. When we got there, hot tub was out of order. If I had of known I would not have booked there. We wanted to relax in the hot tub while the kids went on the water slide for our March break getaway. Also time to upgrade TVs , there is no Netflix and only a handful of channels, nothing do kids to watch. Staff were fine, water slide was fine but limited access to towels. (It was booked under my friend Mindy Burrell’s name)

We arrived and was not happy with the room, I requested a bedroom king suite instead and the front desk person, Ameet looked into it right away. Within minutes we changed and our family was more comfortable for the duration of our stay. Appreciate your help Ameet!

This is an old hotel despite being renovated in 2018.Walls are paper thin and there are large gaps between the doors and frame allowing tons of noise into your room. Windows are single paned, so if you’re facing parking lot you’ll hear every person out there. We stayed in a room at the end of the hallway and the stairs are directly against the bedroom wall. You can hear everyone who uses them. They also allow tractor trailers to park against the hotel at 5am and leave their engines running to wake anyone up with a room at that end of the hotel.Staff aren’t rude, but they have zero personality and definitely aren’t friendly.Breakfast staff stand in the pantry and stare at you like you’re an unwelcome guest. They don’t speak to you, just stare.The pool area is disgusting. The ceiling is covered in black mold and rust and the pool water is cloudy and green. The hot tub also doesn’t work, but they just post signs at reception so you don’t know that until it’s too late. I wouldn’t have booked had I known there was no hot tub. I see another review the owner stated the pool renovations would be complete in a few weeks, however this was months ago and there are no renovations happening. The only positive is the water slide.Room isn’t all that clean. Hair in the bathroom, sticky substance on the door handle to the bedroom, found Barbie shoes on the floor. Small, old tv’s with Eastlink cable. No ability to use streaming services. Wifi is extremely slow, unable to use streaming services on your devices as well.The price of this hotel is not worth what you get. You can pay less at an updated hotel where your kids can watch Netflix and be able to sleep peacefully.
