KVR Smethurst Road Parking Lot

Passing thru on our KVR bike ride. Handy that there's facilities here.

Very easy walk from the parking lot, flat and well graded. Amazing views of Naramata and Summerland across the water once you walk north for 5-10 minutes. Fall colours are spectacular!

Great bike ride on the old KVR track. Grade is not too steep but for those seeking a challenge, there appear to be many trails heading into the forest. Very pretty views.

Nice to have a real bathroom accessible at this stage of the KVR, now we need a dog poop bag dispenser as well so people actually PICK UP after their dogs! There is also a bona fide sealed garbage dispenser for both human AND bagged dog waste. Smethurst Rd. has been re-paved, but is still a narrow municipal road with hairpin corners and almost non-existent shoulders. Watch out for other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and wildlife! :)

Went there in last week of october. Penticton to little tunnel is amazing then about 5km pass little tunnel the trail start to be rough a mountain bike is recommended. We saw a black bear that came on the trail and run away. From there we cross many truck who where doing firewood directly on the trail and hunters. We bike until chute lake and overnight a bit pass their camp site. Just be ready to double the amount of time expected for that part of the trail. We came back in the morning, on our way back there was a guy cuting firewood on a cape of rock next to the trail. Without warning and without looking he drop 2 logs about 8' long by 30 diameter from the cape of rock right on the trail. It lend 5 feets in front of me

Decent number of parking spots and a pit toilet. 4.4k to Little Tunnel on an easy gravel trail. Took us about an hour each way. Pretty views of the lake along the way.

Great place to get on the KVR trail. Best way is to go north.

Nice trail good views of valley within 1 km north of parking lot

Really excellent trail. This access point gives phenomenal views of the lake and valley from just 1km up the trail. Good for walking, and lots of cyclists here.
