Put all of it in your mouth. These guys know their coffee and have a pulse on what the smaller roasters are doing in the Montreal area and in the Filipino community. They put a lot of love and care into their space and their food. The lechon (roast pork) sandwiches are DELICIOUS and the siopao (steamed buns) are jam-packed full of BBQ-style pork or chicken adobo (Adobo = the salty/vinegar-y national dish of the Philippines). Then there's the buko (coconut) pie, which features large slices of fresh coconut in a creamy coconut sauce encased in the most flaky, buttery homemade pie crust.Love the touch of the IG-worthy selfie wall that features a vintage motorcycle and the stylized word Barkada" meaning friends/crew.If you're Filipino- support this awesome venture! If you're not Filipino- try some delicious coffee and food by 2 passionate guys! I will go back for sure the next time I'm in the area."

Nice place with nice people. The breakfast sandwich was great! Coffee fantastic! The owner is a personable, smiling guy. Great optics. Check out the bathroom art.Right off the highway. Easy off, easy on.

I went to work from there and it was really good. The atmosphere is nice, with some background music, but not too loud to be disturbed.I has this type of muffin called Mamon" and it was delicious! The service was really good too

My absolute favourite cafe. This place is a community gem of the south shore and feels like the embodiment of a warm hug. The space is airy and cozy with lots of natural light and high ceilings: a perfect place to sit down and work or have a good coffee date. But what really sets this cafe apart is how incredible everyone who works here is. The staff are so thoughtful and kind. They always check in with their customers to see how they are and always go above and beyond. The drinks and food here are equally delicious (try their ube syrup in a latte and breakfast sandwich if you want to get a taste of their specialties). They have a great assortment of Philippino inspired sandwiches, pies, and baked goods.Additionally, they are always innovating and working with the local community bringing in pop ups and different Philippino foods to try, supporting other local businesses and uplifting others (keep an eye on their IG for pop ups and other community events).I’m so grateful to live near here!!!P.S. just keep in mind they’re closed Mondays!

Very cute cafe! Had no idea they served food! Would've came earlier! The food was delicious! We tried the Adobo Sliders, Pork Belly Sandwich, the special guest Chef pizza (spicy Langonisa) and coffees! Everything was great. The pizza was a deep dish type.. edges were golden and crispy!!! The peanut pesto was the first thing I tasted as I took my first bite, what a great surprise! The pork belly Sandwich, I really enjoyed, super flavourful, the sauce was good; & with the added pineapples.. even better!! I liked the fact that they used arugula as well. The Adobo Sliders were a bit tough" but the taste was still delicious. The sauce being the more noticeable taste for me.I got an Ube Latte (w/coffee) - I really enjoyed it as well! Cute latte art definitely made me smile."

Looking to support local. Tried the litchon sandwich, and longaniza breakfast and found them a tad greasy. But otherwise tasty. The litchon could use a bit of brine. Great atmosphere and definitely a place to bring friends and family.

Who? @cafe.kuyaWhat? Filipino coffee shopWhy? Relatively new on the South Shore, Kuya Café offers a great menu with a variety of different coffees as well as a beautiful seating to study or to enjoy coffee with friends. The iced latte and iced mochas were delicious and big! The quality of coffee used was definitely top tier. They also serve traditional filipino food. We got the Breakfast “Longganisa” sandwich as well as the “Pinoy” sandwich which were both AMAZING. The flavours were out of this world! The Buko pie was also outstanding and something that we had never tried before.Kuya will definitely become a favourite for studying as the staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable and the place has a cool, relaxing atmosphere

Cozy little coffee shop with a small but good choice of coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful with great recommendations. The menu is a small selection of sandwiches filipino-inspired flavours but again, well executed. The prices for the food is steep for the size but everything is freshly made. The pies are also delicious, not too sweet and very buttery with a fresh coconut flavour. A nice spot for a quick bite and great coffee on the south shore.

Was so excited to try this cafe as a fellow pinay and coffee lover. The reviews got to me but after 1 visit. Immediate disappointment after 1 sip of the iced latte. No taste of ube and no sweetner. I asked and they said they don't have any liquid sweetner. All cafés that served iced anything should have one! Drove 20mins for nothing. Not worth the hype!

Charming little place with a unique menu. The taste is not for me, personally, since the flavor profile tends to lean more towards a sweeter taste rather than salty. Friendly staff and good café vibes/ambiance to study/work or have a chat.
