The previous reviews almost prevented me from coming here - but what a mistake that would have been!We've been to this neighbourhood Stephenson's about 3 times now and the customer service has been outstanding every time. Casey is friendly, professional and helpful. The front desk has given honest and quick responses whenever we call in. I would solicit their advice for any home improvement project.

I know it’s not nice to write a bad review but I just want to let know for future costumers the most for Contractors Avoid this company! I got the excavation machine for rent which one they delivered me at 3pm 13th September Thursday and charged me,even for that day!! Basically we used for 2 days Friday and Saturday,they charged me for fool week +delivery $110 +pick up $110.+damage Insurence $155 we finished on Saturday around 5pm and call Monday early morning September 17th to pick it up (they pick up the machine only on Thursday 20th September but I Honestly I worked les them 24 hours ,i rented before from many different rental companies .the reason I called them they was in downtown Toronto and the job was Downtawn Toronto and they bring the excavation machine with the smallest bucket i I seen in my life .Not Fair company,they charge me for Sunday and 4 more days.They picked up it in 3 days after I called them and 3 days we were done all ready.(It’s means we have to pay for their fold )the owner of the property called me a few times when they will pick it up (the excavation machine)I will newer recommend to my friends contractors! And never never use this company again!!! Stay away!!!!

Good employees at the counter, no issues with them. They are as helpful as they can be, but the machines I get from this place are consistently in poor condition and a lot of the time they are not even functioning. Something to note.

I rented scaffolding and a ladder for a job. I had them delivered by them. They missed to deliver the ladder with the rest of the material. It was eventually delivered after a few hours. I clarified what the end price is going to be since I had to run the charge by the client ahead of time. I found out later after checking my MC statement that I was overcharged. I called to find out why, I was told to talk to the manager. I haven't heard from manager after following up a couple of times. Not sure how much is this going to cost me in time wasted while the manager procrastinate, and hoping the I may forget about it.BTW the employees were very helpful throughout this ordeal. Since it was my first time with them they answered alot of my questions with no issue.

Rented a 2 person auger on Saturday. Felt with a wonderful employee named Jay. Fantastic. I rented it for 24hours because I've never used the tool before. We got the tool home and my friend and I were able to bang out all the work within 3.5 hours. So my friend said might as well return it now and only get charged for 4 hours instead of 24. So I called and left a detailed message. Then I discovered they closed at 2pm. So even if I originally ordered the tool for 4 hours o still wouldn't of been able to return it. I also learned they were closed Sunday as well. However it rained all day Sunday (that's why my friend and I banged all the work out in 3.5 hours). On Monday morning I called and Rob answered. I explained my situation and he told me to bring the tool in and that he would honour the 4 HR rental instead of the 24 hour. I just want to say I'm extremely happy with the employees, their attitude, their service and the performance of the tool. I will be back again for sure

WORST PLACE EVER. Worst manager, employee ever I wish I got their names. They not only tried to humiliate me however tried to discredit my drivers license and begin inspecting is as if they were law enforcement. STAY STAY FAR AWAY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO SUCH AN AWFUL ESTABLISHMENT.

Scammers! I’ve been working with many rental companies and this is far by the worst. I think their company policy is being sneaky and stealing money from people by overcharging them. I rent lift for only one day and they over charged me. Whenever I call them they said in a week and im never hearing from them again. It’s been month. I never had problem with other employees and they were very helpful but this time I work with this woman and she is the worst. Never see someone hate their job as much as she does and very rude to customers. I will never work with this company again and I am not letting go my money. I will be their problem until they pay my money. Overall, don’t work with this scammers.

Disappointed. Ordered a machine at 8:30am. Was told it would be delivered by noon or would be advised. Got delivered at 4:00pm with part missing. Lost a day of work. Gave them the opportunity to make it right, they didn’t. All in all, was ready to pay extra for the service and convenience of big business, got none of that.

This location is good and centrally located in the downtown west core, so it's handy for those of us who work and live close by. It's great to have this kind of service in fact, in one's neighbourhood. That said, and despite some seemingly genuine effort by staff here to help provide me with the correct equipment in a timely manner, like others who have reviewed on this site, I ran into real issues with what was experienced: Actual delivery time was way late (I was told 10am, which turned into 'around noon, and equipment finally arrived at 1:30); over-long waits on 'hold' (after being put on hold for 20-30 min. to get some very crucial information about equipment delivery, I hung up so that I could phone back, and it turned out that the Stephenson's employee who was 'helping' me had actually left for the day! Who does that??); vague or incomplete information about equipment resulting in the wrong equipment being delivered. Besides a lot of frustration, these cumulative missteps also meant I had to make payouts to outside labour that I had hired to help with the job and due to the incorrect or delayed equipment delivery, were paid to simply wait around.When I asked for some kind of price adjustment to compensate for the delays and the over $150 I had to pay to the outside/unused labour, Stephenson's took off a 2nd day of charges, when I in fact, had only rented equipment for 1 day in the first place. They cited that the delivery of the wrong equipment, 3.5 hours late, cost them extra and they would not negotiate further. Sorry to say, I'll have to look elsewhere than this Stephenson's in future...

Complete fail!!! Whole day wasted as wand of carpet cleaner completely unusable....solution...? Please drive up to yorkdale location....wait....thats at least 40 minutes away from this. Location on eastern ave......add 20 cm of snow....I'm on a time frame people....cleaning carpets as we are hosting event for 300 people next day....So now...with replaced wand, I shall clean my carpets way into the evening....New location on eastern ave is a complete joke....Teach your employees and desk jockeys some empathy for the hardworking people who require your business....Sorry....former business.So disappointing...Don't bother a response to me with details about how valuable my business is....Tell you what...wave my rental and I'll be satisfied to use your company again.Please and thank you.Rob Picken
