Welcome to Sushi Mong in Campbell River! We specialize in delicious Japanese and Korean Cuisine. Chef James Bae has been working in sushi restaurants while in Korea and developed a passion for the craft of sushi making. He and wife, Jane Kim, arrived in Campbell River in 2013. James worked at Sushi Mong and they fell in love with the community of Campbell River. When Sushi Mong was offered for sale, they seized the opportunity to buy it. Reopening in April 2016, Sushi Mong has been a popular destination for locals and new comers alike to enjoy delicious sushi and authentic Korean food.

The service and the environment was nice. It has bigger space than I thought.We ordered miso soup, a few different sushi, and edamame. Miso soup has a weird taste so we couldn't finish it. Sushi was fresh and tasty.

Delicious food and fun atmosphere. I really enjoy the selection of special rolls. They have wild caught salmon and real crab upgrades if desired. The prices are higher than some other sushi restaurants in town but it's worth it in my opinion.

This a great restaurant with reasonable prices and average wait times. The staff are friendly and courteous.The food was very good, the sashimi was awesome and the presentation was great. I'm not one for all the mayo (western look) so I keep things simple. I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Japanese and Korean food.

Ok before walking in, the front looks a little rough, but don’t judge a book by it cover. inside it was perfect and the food was great however, I’m writing this to mention my waiter. That guy was on fire, best waiter I’ve ever had in my life. This guy payed attention to detail like I’ve never seen before. The single most polite, friendly helpful server I have ever seen. I live in Port Hardy but if I lived here I would have stolen him to work for me. I’m 55 and fat so just saying I’ve been to a lot of restaurants. Best server I have ever seen.

We had a fabulous dinner here and the prices were very reasonable! We had the assorted tempura, the smoked salmon roll with real crab and the Chicken Udon noodle dish which was huge and very tasty. The service was top notch as well. We arrived just before 8:00 when they close but they served us anyway and did not rush us at all. We will be back!

You’d be hard pressed to find better sushi in Campbell River. It’s close to the Quadra Island Ferry terminal. The beef yaki udon and sushi won’t disappoint!Sapporo on tap was a pleasant surprise :)The ingredients are plentiful and fresh. The flavours are exquisite. Our server Hayden was attentive and efficient despite the busyness of both the dining room and takeout counter. It’s busy for a reason because they’re great at what they do! Service was surprisingly FAST.The upgrade to wild sockeye salmon (vs farmed) was worth it to experience what this region is known for. Great value for the price.

Amazingly shaped rolls no overlapping on the nori. Fresh rice made with rice vinigar and mirin. rice was a touch over done or passed too much down when making the roll but nothing major. Fresh ingredients.Only complaints where the miso soup was soooo salty and no tofu i got 3 tiny pieces.Also I find the more I eat out in this town nobody knows the effect on plating. The customers eat with their eyes. Usually the ginger and Wasabi is a garnish, a lemon wedge a leaf of lettuce... something. I spent $25 in house and got like no razzle dazzle. It accentuated that your rolls where not cut all the same size but the ingredients where all placed identical with even amount of rice which was impressive.It felt expensive but cheap at the same time. Do you want ginger? I understand the soaring food costs and cutting corners but yikes.Will come back though but not often.
