I recently had double hip replacement at the hospital and to all of the staff and I do mean all of the staff THANKYOU. From admitting to discharge and was treated with nothing but caring staff. You could see that all staff were busy multi multi tasking but as a patient I was never not cared for. To Dr. Bryce Henderson and his team THANKYOU. You all have changed my life.

I had to get an urgent procedure done here due to Edmonton Misicordia hospital releasing me even though I knew there was something wrong. Red Deer hospital gave me a proper procedure to fix their mistake. The treatment from the nurses in unit 24 was exceptional. Especially Oliver and the one girl who has been working 12 hour shifts while pregnant but I unfortunately can’t remember her name. The only reason this review isn’t 5 stars is because the emergency room is a joke. It took almost 6 hours to get in when I was coming from a separate hospital. Once I finally got in treatment was good. Emergency walk in is a zoo. Overall a good experience.

To the long blonde haired (Kirsten) nurse in Emergency tonight. Yelling for at least a minute…at a translating service on the phone. I am sure you are having a bad night… BUT lady, your patients are having it WAY worse than you. If you can’t handle the stress and lose it that easily, you need another job not a nursing job. I’m getting your name and I’m writing HR to follow up. What we all witnessed in the ER was beyond disgraceful. You had support rooms from all of the rooms looking out into the department to you.

Honestly don’t understand why we have a hospital in reddeer, people can truly treat there own wounds / diagnose themselves better than a nurse can.For example,A child with a broken arm was waiting more than five hours to have a cast put onAn elderly man split his knee open from a chainsaw accident and was waiting for more than 13 hours.A doctor openly said 2/3 of people who come in for abdominal pain leave with no reasonable explanation, and 1/3 of those people end up coming backWhile waiting in the emergency room, half of the nurses were sitting talking to one another, while the emergency room was packed full of people.I believe the selective health care workers work endless hours trying to help as much people as possible and I honestly envy themAs well as I also believe the healthcare system is slowly diminishing, because of the lack of supports from the government as well as the requirements for being vaccinated to work in the hospitalWe truly as a country have lost too many doctors, as well as nurses from the requirements, which is implementing the lack of people being properly, examined/treated properlyAnd I as a Canadian, I am truly disappointed within the health care system in Canada

I had to get induced on April 20th because my baby was 5 days over and was causing a lot of chest pain. The whole time I was getting induced everything was fine. Staff was helpful and the nurse that I had was Seanna and she was awesome. Definitely recommend having her if you are in the labour and delivery unit. As soon as my little girl came into the world the staff changed (Seanna went off shift right before I got to 10cm) they were helpful but they weren’t. I wasn’t fully producing breast milk and so I had to give formula so she can eat. When I asked and same with my family for milk they would give the littlest amount. We asked for more in the bottle but they wouldn’t do it. We waited over an hour for a nurse after saying that she had a pee to come and check. When we were leaving the hospital they never told us how to put her in the car seat or to even check if it was safe for her to use and not expired (we got the car seat from my sister in law and it still had a year left of usage). They also didn’t weight her before we left too. I was very happy with how we were treated at the start but afterwards not to much. There’s more to be said about the visit.

I recently had the pleasure of having an emergency gall bladder removal at Red Deer Hospital. During my 4 days/nights stay I had absolutely exemplary care from the dozens of nurses the entire time I was there. Some of them worked very long hours waiting for their relief to come in. The lab techs that came to take blood were so quick and skilled I barely knew they were there. The part that was the most reassuring for me was the way the surgical team would come to my bedside every morning, to see how I was doing, to introduce the surgeon of the day as well as the rest of the team, and to let me know I was on their list for the day as long as no other more urgent emergency surgeries came up. They were friendly and professional even though they were being paged and pulled in all directions. Thank you all for making my situation as comfortable and positive as it could have been!

this is one of the worst hospitals I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. Useless and disorganized to say the least. I'm pretty sure it's only a place to go if you want to die. Not only are they unorganized but the staff is arrogant and argumentative. I took my father there for a stroke and they left him sitting in the waiting room from 2pm until 830pm I finally just took him home. He was exhausted from just sitting there. He had no food because they didnt have a place to get him anything to eat and he was late taking his medication. It would have been faster to take him to calgary he would have been seen and home and in bed by 830pm. I also notice that the elderly people waiting were left to last. some that were there before we got there were still sitting there when we left. Feels like age discrimination.I went to the hospital in calgary just a week ago on a friday night. in 2.5 hours I was attended to had xrays and was tucked up in bed with pain meds and asleep in that time. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO RED DEER HOSPITAL!

I had an MRI on my knee in 2019. The staff were friendly but the booking process was ridiculous. The MRI interpretation was pretty basic and didn't answer the clinical question if my knee was surgical. I was chatting about my experience with an Edmonton MRI Tech earlier this year who then asked if they could see my results. They were quite shocked to discover that the Red Deer MRI protocol sequence was missing 2 essential views. I shared my concern with my family physician who then referred me for a repeat MRI at the Royal Alex Hospital. It's quite unnerving to discover that the Red Deer MRI doesn't follow Edmonton protocol. It's not an accident that Edmonton is rated the number 1 city in Canada for health care quality. It's time for Red Deer to embrace the high standard MRI protocols that is provided in Edmonton. I was naive to believe that an MRI is an MRI no matter where it's taken. Location does matter an Red Deer MRI provides less thorough MRI knee examinations.

***Public Safety Warning***My uncle was sent home with sepsis of the blood and an artery in his leg ruptured shortly thereafter. He could have gone into septic shock and suffered total kidney failure, which invariably leads to death. He was sent to Calgary for emergency surgery and will undergo several surgeries to repair the damage. The doctors" are incompetent and indifferent to the point of malpractice. No real diversity in hiring

Red Deer emerge reminded me of what third world medical looks like. The Ripped and torn chairs in the very confusing and unclear where do i go" waiting area looked straight out of a creepy greasy spoon dinner. Security only concerned that i wear a covid mask not that i actually get help. The self important triage staff openly laughed at my self diagnosis ( staph infection) like i was an idiot and called it a rash instead. With my foot swelling like a balloon
