Absolutely disrespectful management ,a man named Joseph is rude to the residents and I saw how he treated employees before covid -19 , a terrible institute to place family members ,I recently heard they have the virus in the building and aren’t taking the cautionary action for residents and staff ,especially for staff with medical issues and of age !! Such a disgusting thing to hear about from a caregiving home ,doesn’t even deserve a one star ,just poor performance on management! I will be reporting to health inspectors about these terrible unsafe conditions for all peoples working and living in this building

Since covid, Vivalis has had new management change at Least 4 times.Staff come and go and the care is neglectful more often than none.We had to move our 95 year old mother for this reason. This is not a place for seniors!! It is a business. I strongly suggest that anyone who thinks about sending their loved ones there DO NOT!

I agree with the positive reviews. My experience with my dad at Vivalis is very positive so far. My sister and I were overwhelmed with caring for our dad at home. He fell in March 2016 and broke his hip. Then suffered a stroke after surgery. We tried our best to keep him home but it got too tough and we were exhausted and always arguing. The staff here at Vivalis is so patient and understanding. I agree with the reviewers about the general manager. He’s amazing! Things are very different since he is here. This is because he has solid experience in health care and nursing and it shows! My sister and i are so grateful to have him and Vivalis, to know our dad is happy and safe and close to home :) (we grew up in and live in West Island).

if you dont care about your love ones you send them here ! trust me the nurses are garbage and dont care and will cost about 5000 $ a month to be treated bad ................the douglas will treat you better !! ive attended the breakfast and was shocked how the nurses didnt care ....these people only go to work for the money and dont give a S$# about the residence ....

As a caregiver, I would not recommend this facility. There is not much stimulation in terms of activity due to storage of staff and unfortunately most of the PAB and nurses don’t care and are neglectful, instead of talking to the residents, they are too busy on their phones. Not very clean. Fortunately the person I cared for just moved into another residence and the quality of care there is phenomenal.

I moved my mother here after a long and complex struggle in another residence in the West Island. Vivalis is so different than other résidences and I highly recommend it. The general manager is so caring, professional and attentive to our needs. He and his team are problem solvers and we can reach out to them with any concern. Also, the building itself is fairly new, with great uptake. Most importantly, i know my mom is in good hands and happy. I no longer feel guilty about having “placed her” somewhere. Vivalis is her new home.

HORRIBLE!!!Nurses like to be on their phone for hoursWorkers at night sleep in the bed bedside residentsLike everywhere there was some nurses that were gems!!! But overall if I have have to do it again, I do not recommend.

The care or lack of care is Disgraceful!The staff are rude, rough, and totally disrespectful.The were verbally abusive to my Mother. There were several days her medications were not given.We couldn't wait to remove her from this terrible place. The management was told about all the terrible issues we had. They knew it was bad.We removed my Mother after one month.I wouldn't send my Dog there.

If I could give it negative stars I would. This place cause more harm than well with my grandmother, at the price they charge the level of care is PATHETIC. We had her removed today and sent back to the hospital as the lack of care cause her to accumulate 3rd degree burns. There’s a difference between being short staffed and poorly managed. Truly inhumain and unbelievable.

Placed my mother there for one week after surgery. Very dirty, someone had spilled pasta in elevator, it stayed there the whole week! Nurses did not read files, were ambivalent, personnel didn't care, they were there to do their shift. I strongly suggest to find somewhere else to place aging parents...
