True Confections Broadway

I’m so glad I finally tried True Confections. They had a large selection of cake slices and whole cakes available. My slice of White Savannah Cream Cake was amazing! It was so soft it was almost like pudding. The cake wasn’t overly sweet, the whipped frosting was fresh, and the strawberry sauce tasted very vibrant. It was like a fancy strawberry shortcake. Although the slices aren’t cheap, they are HUGE and totally worth it. I look forward to trying more!Nothing really remarkable about the cafe decoration, but it’s kept clean and I thought the essential oil diffuser was a nice touch. The baristas were nice and helpful with questions.

I had the most disappointing experience ordering their New York style cheesecake. I pre ordered the 11 inch one and it tasted freezer burnt, old, and stale. It was dense with a strange after tang. I spent close to $100 and it was absolutely horrid. We are avid cheesecake lovers but no one even touched the cake. They charged so much but half the crust was missing on certain areas and it was so unevenly distributed. I want a refund. Pic included.

The Missus and I had visited different True Confections outlets during our courtship. So we decided to reminisce those happy days with some cake at the Broadway location. We also returned on a different occasion for a take away order.The service was okay and and we were promptly served. We understand it's difficult to find workers these days but a smile with the service would have been nice. Of the cakes ordered, the Classic Chocolate was our favorite. It's $9.75 a slice but we found it was large enough to share between us. It's defintely the best chocolate cake we've had in a while.The dessert date brought back nice memories and we will be back to try some of the other cakes offered.

I ordered White Savannah Cake and banana cream pie tonight. The pie was fine, but the White Savannah Cake was terrible! The White Savannah Cake was mushy and had zero flavors, not a hint of Grand Marnier in the Bavarian cream. The berry sauce was not strained, so every taste had gritty seeds! My guess is the cake was stale it should not have been sold.

I love the monster (in terms of size) cakes. There is a good chance I'll come back for the cheesecakes and pies too. Everything looked delicious without being too complicated or expensive.

I'm not sure if this is a constant but the place smelt horrid. Their banana cream pie is fairly decent and arguably worth the price, although caked with too much cheap whipped cream. I couldn't say the same about the cheesecake, at $9 for a thin slice and only decent.

Black top marble cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake were both amazingEdit: the strawberry cheesecake and chocolate hazelnut cake were excellent as well flavor wise, though I wish I could find more experimental flavors from the cake experts here. Would love to see more creativity since they clearly have the basics down well.

Awesome dessert cafe with multiple locations in Vancouver, with an array of artisanal cakes and pies to choose from. Birthday cake is my favourite. One of the great things about this cafe is that they’re open till midnight so perfect for a late night treat!
