Gabi’s Wigs

I called to ask if I could drop off my wig for a wash and set and was told I could for the dates I needed it ready. Due to my medical condition, I have great difficulty walking. There was no parking available and I had to park two blocks away. When I came to the store I was told that the lady on the phone had told me in error and that they could not accept my wig for a wash. I was quite disappointed they could not make an exception given they had provided the erroneous information and that I had walked all the way with difficulty to their store. Then the lady who was serving me just walked away and would not talk to me- I was very disappointed with this customer service for a place that markets themselves as catering towards people with medical conditions.

Many issues, they sold a wig just to get rid of us and it. My Mother was looking for a white wig which they said they had one, great so when it didn't fit they tried to cut it and resize it. It still didn't fit so they said come in and get a band which we did. It still wouldn't sit properly so the hair stylist said it was not the right size, no kidding. So in the long run they made it into a hair topper. I came to pick it up and it was blue and the material inside was full of rust stains and looked disgusting. They tried to explain it as the clips were moved and the colouring was what caused it. I said we didn't pay $2200 for something that looked like garbage so they said leave it with them to try and change the inside and recolour it again. Weeks later and I can say its not much better. Avoid wasting your money here. They have no interest in how you feel only about the money they can scam you for.

Maria is a diamond of this place. Her experience as a hair stylist for 15 years, her charisma and down to earth personality will just help to make the right decision. I highly recommend this place and her specifically.

Gabi has a large selection of wigs, yes and they let you try them on and take your time. My mom ordered a wig here and when she went to pick it up, they rushed a hair cut and made it completely lop sided. It was over $1600 and ruined in an instant. it was never worn. It was a while ago (my name will not be on file at your shop) but we never complained about it - why bother when cancer has you worried and stressed enough?

I had been looking online and doing research for wigs on and off for a year now or more. Nothing came out of it. Then, one of my friends told me about Gabi’s; she knew a friend who went there.So a week ago, I called and left a message. Mary called me back shortly and booked an appointment for me. I went yesterday, Wednesday October 13th for my 2pm appointment. It was easy to get to by bus even with construction going on.I arrived a little early; Mary greeted me and when I sat down she asked me about my hair issue. She brought out a topper and it fit me to a “T”. There was a transformation with the topper. I did not expect to just try one topper. Mary was good.I did not expect to buy the topper on the same day, however since the store hours were limited and I was only able to goas I was on vacation, I bought it. I felt confident enough about the product and service I got.Judy styled the topper and put it on me to further style it. I also asked for tips on how to care for it.It was overall a very good experience and quite painless. The price was much higher than usual wigs, however, the quality was very good as it was human hair and European made.I found out later that they have two locations - one in North York and the other in Mississauga; the other two locations are in New York and L.A.I would highly recommend anyone with hair issues to visit this boutique to try our the toppers and wigs. I don’t think you would be disappointed.Judy even went a bit beyond the closing time to assist me. Kudos to staff. Hopefully if I go again one day, I can meet the owner.Store was clean; staff were attentive and professional and helpful.

I have had alopecia areata for the past 5 years and had bought a few wigs elsewhere before coming to Gabi’s. I was a bit skeptical initially but after two years of only wearing the wig I got from Gabi’s, I can confidently say it is my best wiggie! I love it so much and I always get comments saying they could never tell it was a wig. As for the hair quality, the one I purchased was top notch. Its silky smooth and the lace top was so comfortable. It stood the test of time during my camping summers and static-y winters. Ive been on speed boats, roller coasters and just generally lived. I recently purchased a similar priced wig from another person and instantly regretted not going back to Gabi’s. Tldr: would recommend for my fellow alopecia peeps. Remember to get the European lacetops though! It’s definitely an investment

Beautiful selection and kind, friendly staff. They allowed me to come in on short notice when I needed to buy a wig in a rush. I had a lot of questions as it was my first time there, and they were very patient with me. My purchase was more expensive than I'm used to for a human hair wig, but it has held up beautifully for years and I get a lot of compliments on how healthy" my hair looks. They definitely use high-quality European hair

My mom bought a wig from Gabi’s, but it got lost during shipping and they refuse to provide a refund. Even after we spoke with UPS and they told us that the sender needed to make things right.Given their prices, we really expected better from Gabi’s. I would steer clear as their service has been terrible. It’s been months of trying to get our money back and they simply refuse.Response: We’re not trying to bash you, we’re simply trying to get our money back. We felt we had no other recourse after this much time. We’re happy to help in any way we can, but it’s seeming like a lost cause. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help.
