Up In Smoke Welding Apparel

Up in smoke... love the gear. Mac is a solid dude as well. The first piece I bought was a non FR thorax. I ran it for about 4 years. Torching, carbon arcing, dual shield welding, stick welding, lancing. And the thing held up phenomenally there is maaaaybe 3 small holes in the fabric and none in the leather. So then I moved out to Nevada and bought another thorax with the hi-vis stripping. This one's FR this time. Ran everything again in it last winter and not a single hole. Leather has some good marks on it. But none on me. Plus they are super WARM. If wanting to use it as a over shell go up a size or two. Then I bought some of the newest FR work shirts (Zestos). I've beat the daylights out of them. The arms are starting to fray a bit, but I've never gotten burned and they still look slick. I've also got some street clothes of theirs. A couple hoodies, hats, kids hoodies,....and they're all warm and quality. Mac being a welder did his research and it's solid. The pieces are purpose built. And it shows in the abuse they can take and the protection it offers. I was a little skeptical at first cause they are a little pricey. Buuuuuuut the cash is well worth it cause it works like it needs to and lasts. He's really found what works and he's open to suggestions as well for improvements and would like to haves""

I’ve been purchasing welding apparel for the last two years from MAC and his company Up In Smoke Welding. By far this is the best FR you can buy. Anyone working in the trades known how rough it can be on your clothes when grinding, cutting, plasma, arc gouging or just burning rod and wire. I’ve bought lots of other brands and once I made my first purchase from Up In Smoke I’ve never turned back.The customer service is beyond awesome. The response time to email or social media is as fast as if I was messaging a family member.The clothes fit true and don’t take forever to break in. The leather is soft and comfortable. The Novus FR shirts are the heavy duty versions of a cloth style FR but I’ve now purchased 3 of them because of how comfortable and protective they are.If you are in the market for some FR clothing you won’t be unhappy at all.
