We saw HMS Pinafore and were really disappointed in the adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s work.The feminist bent of this adaptation was very off-putting and artistically lazy.People don’t go to the opera to see classic works lecture to them.

HMS Pinafore was so difficult to hear that the plot was almost unintelligible. The screen above the stage was not in sync with the dialogue and the singing was not on screen at all. Nice stage, nice costumes, but we missed the storyline. Could the theme songs (ie, I Am An English Man) have been sung with more gusto?

Nice venue, orchestra was amazing, however the surtitles weren't complete, and stopped a couple of times. They were also trying to seat people during the show, so there were a lot of interuptions.
