Cheakamus Canyon Hike - 2WD Parking
The road to the 2WD parking lot is easily accessible by a car. Past the parking is a ton of camping spots, a fast flowing river and a trail with views of the canyon

12 km roundtrip, 320m gain, fairly steady up. Good views of the Cheakamus canyon.

Cheakamus Canyon Hike - 2WD Parking
Good hike to the lake, some pretty constant hills on the way up. Lake is warm and clean, bring your towel and swimsuit! Parking lot is a bit tricky to drive into with a sedan, but can be done if you are slow. walk to the trail head from the parking lot is about 15 minutes and mostly shaded. Right now (June 2021) the river has flooded out a 50 foot section of trail at the very beginning, bring some plastic bags to cover your shoes with as you will have to wade through water that's about 6 inches deep, but only for about 15 feet, then there is an area on the right that you can go on above the path.

Great hike (~10 km there and back). A bit steep for some, but our family likes it.

This is an amazing unpopular trail! We continue driving in after the 2WD parking with our jeep. There’s lots of view point along the hike.Follow the sea to sky trail sign and they will lead you to be above of the train tracks. The trail is not well mark but it’s east enough to figure out the way.

Nice view of canyon and railway! Hike is mixture of flats and some climbs but not too hard. Just about 10k out and back.

10/10 out-and-back hike.Difficulty: moderate.---The first section starts beside the river, which was running high in late July (it is possible for this section to be washed out and impassible). Then, a long slow incline begins up to the train tracks and then the lake. You can stop here for swimming and fishing. Afterwards, the trail has some more difficult portions but lots of tree cover most of the way. The most incredible viewpoints are in the latter half leading up to the highway. Unlike some out-and-backs, this hike is incredible both ways, with views of the mountains more notable on the return.
