The Wood Restaurant & Lounge
We were there last Saturday and ordered their famous Wood Burger that was different but tasted the same as other burgers or at least I didn't find it to be that special. The wings were pretty bad, they tasted old as if they had been sitting in the heat for a while, not fresh at all. This restaurant is very welcoming of dogs as there were quite a few in the patio but the patio umbrella is a HUGE issue because the sun will bake you and you need at least 2x patio umbrellas to get some shade. I had asked for an extra umbrella and they gave it to someone else by mistake. Of course that other party of 4 really needed it as well so we were told to pretty much deal with it. It got so hot that 2 of us had to go in the restaurant as the heat became unbearable. Tip to restaurant management, invest in some bigger patio shade/umbrellas 'cause the summer although very welcomed can be very uncomfortable to even have a meal when the sun is at it's peak. Overall this was an ok experience but a few let downs.

The Wood Restaurant & Lounge
The Wood Restaurant & Lounge is a neat restaurant in a nice location in Canmore. The patio offers great views of the mountains and they have a large selection of local beers on tap. The cost per beer is not super expensive (my flight cost $12) and the specialty drinks are not too expensive either.In terms of food, our appetizer of yam fries was pretty standard. The dipping sauce was quite tasty and the portion was adequate for two people. Regarding our main courses, my wife enjoyed her bean burger, but said it wasn’t anything to write home about. My burger, the Wood burger, was kind of a let down. It wasn’t overly expensive, but I was honestly expecting more. It was average and there wasn’t anything especially memorable about it. Our side salads were quite good, as they were a decent side and had a nice dressing on top.The service we received was pretty good, but nothing about it set it apart from other restaurants.Overall, we had an average experience at the Wood Restaurant and Lounge. I think there are probably some other dishes that may be worth trying, but I am not sure if I will return here to have their burgers.

The restaurant is nicely decorated, there's a deck and you can enjoy your food outside when the weather is nice. The food was good, decently priced I'd say. My steak did seem overdone on one side more than the other, wasn't pleased with it, but it is what it is. Our waiter wasn't our side of the restaurant half the time, so the wait time to order was a bit long. Other than that and the steak, I enjoyed some good food and had an amazing time.

What a nice visit. Dog friendly patio. Great service. Delicous Apple Crisp Cider. Only 3 stars because my Korean fried burger was not that great.If I am paying $25 for a meal, I'm hoping it's going to be stellar!! The chicken was not fried to order. It tasted like it was prepped ahead of time and sauce thrown on it. The flavors were delicous. Just had no heat to it and I could tell, was not freshly made Fried Chicken.The roasted potatoes on the other hand were incredible.Pretty pricey dishes, but the atmosphere and having my dog with me, made it a great visit.Just hope they improve the chicken for the price point

The food was okay. Open face chicken sandwich was tasty but it’s fault was it was kind of a round chick of chicken so you could never eat it with any of the toppings. The same on was excellent. The fry’s were nice but a little two crispy (maybe that’s the style?). The gravy is a waste of time don’t bother. Service. Was a little slow and not a single offer for drink refills. Over all a very nice patio. They might of been a little under staffed not sure. Edited yo add the menus where dirty, they seem to not clean them at all (based on seeing 4)

Ate here on July 6th, 2023 with my family. We were early and were seated immediately. The restaurant itself looks very nice and they have excellent restrooms. Our server was prompt and got our orders correct. Unfortunately the food was just so so. Three of us ordered the steak sandwich and they were cooked correctly but didn’t really have much flavor. My piece was especially grisly. One of us had the Korean burger and it just didn’t have that much flavor to it. The beer selection is ok as well, but not spectacular. This place seems to want to be more upscale than it is currently delivering. I would have liked to have had the manager come by and ask how our meal was so I could have pointed out the bad piece of steak I got. There are better places to eat than this place in Canmore for the price you are paying. It does have an awesome outdoor seating area.

Just had the Tuna Wonton Stack, to say it was amazing is an understatement. Hands down the best appetizer I’ve had, great taste, texture and presentation! Will return again undoubtedly!

We sat outside watching the world go by. The food and service was good overall. But it seemed to take a while to get our server's attention to get the bill and then pay. But it was a small bump In comparison to a good meal.

Pints are tasty (Great selection) and seating is perfect. Dry ribs and 4 cheese dip for appetizers after a long trail ride.....clutch!
