UPDATE PLEASE READ ABOUT PHARMACYIt would benefit the community if this locations closed down, absolutely terrible staff and even more of a disastrous excuse for a pharmacy. Ever since new owners came, it’s been terrible.THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. I was told at this location that I had to pay for my perscription even tho it’s technically covered because of my age. MAGICALLY when I decide to switch pharmacies, my prescription is completely free. I have been paying you scammers $25 a month for so long FOR NOTHING.

This Shoppers has probably the WORST pharmacy staff I have ever had to encounter. They never communicate properly and efficiently, have to make multiple phone calls to get prescriptions sorted, the staff take NO accountability for their mistakes, they have messed up the dosages of medications too many times I've lost track, the list goes on.The general store, I have 0 problems with but something needs to be done about their pharmacy. They cannot be reckless and petty when it comes down to people's health.

Ever since the owner got self serve checkouts, leaving only the lottery cash open, the owner has instructed their staff to continually hound customers if they are paying cash or card. If by card, you are forced to use the self serve. The onwer also tells staff to use the excuse that head office is mandating this invasion of your payment status, despite never hearing this question at any other shoppers or Loblaw that also use self serve with cashier's. Today, April 12, I mentioned to an employee who asked me how I was paying. I said cash. I said why do you continually hound customers as to how they are paying when know other store asks this question, prior to items being scanned. The employe said I should be used to being hounded then. I said hounding is something one does not get used to as I read her name tag which stated she was a supervisor. Not only is the owner desparately watching his self serve transaction revenue against the expenses of their self serve kiosks that he uses his management to harass customers who object being asked confidential payment information for the sole purpose as I have outlined. Truly a pathic and desparate business practice.

I too wish there was a zero star rating possible.. look at the number of complaints about this location..horrible experience..I was forced to go through self check out because I was not paying cash.. followed up with a phone call to the store after my visit, and store claims they are following SDM corporate requirements however that is a lie. my sister works for SDM and confirms this a not a corporate, but a store associate decision.. this is disgraceful. I'll never go back.Nor will I call 1-800-SHOPPERS as mentioned this is store policy not corporate policy to this review stands and the canned response from Customer Care is meaningless.. Stop trying to replace people with machines!

I wish I could give zero stars. My husband picked up my prescription for me, a prescription that I never had before. Omar, a “pharmacist” had the worst attitude from the beginning, after asking for my date of birth kept repeating that he was confused and failed to give instructions or dosage which are not printed on the label. Shame! Customer service says it all. People like Omar should not be taking care of customers. Learn respect and professionalism. How difficult was to look at the prescription and tell me the dosage?!?!?!

I go here because it’s close to where I live but the pharmacy wait is always very long and over the past 3 years, no one has ever answered the phone when I’ve called, and I’ve tried numerous times. When you’re in the store, you constantly hear the speaker over the intercom asking the pharmacist to answer line 1, but they never do. Even when I’m waiting in the sitting area and there’s no line, no one answers the phone.

worst store in the chain.. I was forced to go to self check out because the one cashier on hand said she could only help me if I was paying cash.. asked for the manager.. nothing. the cashier took my order and processed it through the self check out. what is this store coming too? this is aggressive behavior.. I called the store and some nameless person in charge of cash tried to tell me they are following head office instructions. THIS IS WRONG and also a lie, as my sister works for SDM and she said there was no corporate instruction to do this.. it's done at the store level. To the store associate you are a disgrace to humanity for doing this. They try to push you off to the 1800SHOPPERS number rather than take responsibility for their own pathetic store.

On May 16, 2023 I went to The East Mall Shopper Drug Mart pharmacy to check the availability of drop eye prescription which I should have start taking immediately. The associate took the prescription and checkup the stock. Unfortunately, they do not have my prescription and ask me to go to other pharmacy to check my luck. Initially, I did not realize the difficulty to find my prescription. I am a senior with no car and I depend on public transportation. I checked a few pharmacies and finally after one week I got the prescription. I was very upset because I got very poor customer service. The associate was lazy and did not do his job. Instead of ordering my prescription from another pharmacy or at least check the stock on computer and told me exactly the location to pick up the prescription he let me to find myself. Very disappointed.

Pharmacy never picks up the phone, my doctors has had to wait over an hour on phone to give my prescriptions. Their attitude is who cares if you need life saving medications, we can't be bothered to help. Shoppers needs some policy and compliance officers or something, this is just uncalled for when it comes to medication!
