These people are monsters. Don't bother wasting your time here. You'll get more help panhandling. No professionalism what so ever. The security guard was the only person who treated us like humans. Zero stars! But I had to give one to write my review. Absolute joke!

Condescending workers with little to no empathy, cant even call my worker directly any more, couldn't feed myself so I had to turn to family for help with groceries and they ended up clawing back my benefits to the point I nearly ended up homeless due to not being able to pay rent.Edit: Ended up closing my account with zero contact what so ever, claiming I somehow owe them money, actually did end up homeless for a month, had to move to Quebec in order to survive. You'll never escape poverty if you have to rely on them.

I agree with the person who spoke about the dehumanizing staff and intake officers. Not 'the dog photo' who says that Nice people work there... The government needs to train needs people not just how to do their job, but to be ethical and not post favorable reviews about themselves online.

Absolutely dreadful. They will give you even less than the bare minimum to survive. Example: when I was on EIA, I lived alone, and they literally gave me $195 A MONTH for everything. That includes food, clothes, hygiene, school stuff, etc. Another thing is that a lot of the workers are extremely dehumanizing and rude. You'd be shocked that they even have their jobs and are allowed to talk to people that way. People who are already struggling as it is. Disgusting place. Absolute last resort, if you have other options TRUST ME. TAKE THEM over this trashy place. Oh and just so you know, if you're an immigrant, you WILL have an extremely rough time. They will let you suffer until your paperwork is verified, and the paperwork itself is extremely complicated with several different documents needed. Much easier and more convenient to just get a job.

Don't take offense, I told You that I had nothing, knew the law, and would haunt you past my death if it came down to it if you lied to me.You chose to lie and continue on until I lost my mind. My life is now either getting away from here or dying to leave a pile of mess on paper that will make many of You wish you'd just done your jobs as per Canadian Law as I'd asked, over and over and.....

I got hired while I was on welfare and quit the next day because of unethical work environment and while I was in the process of taking it to the labor board EIA cut me off for 6 months. I couldn’t find a job since then and lived homeless, today I had an appointment with EIA (7 months later) to reapply which was scheduled a MONTH prior and the person who scheduled it for me didn’t give me any information. If it was going to be a call, or a meeting in the office, etc. I call to ask an hour before the appointment to make sure and was put on hold for an hour and a half. Person couldn’t do anything for me except tell me to wait over a month again
