West Coast Trail Lodge

I left behind an expensive pair of earbuds and the team at Wild Renfrew was amazing. They quickly found them and will be shipping them back to me. Cannot say enough good things about the staff there. Our last day while we were there, there was an early morning power outage. The team had a generator up and running to restore power to the hotel within the hour. The rooms were nicer than expected and the overall experience was great.

This accommodation is absolutely lovely. Everything is well thought out, new, and clean. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. While there are not many food options around, the Renfew Pub across the street is fantastic. The lodge is also right next to a dock with a beautiful view. As an extra bonus, if you are lucky, you might even see a family of deer hanging out in front of the lodge.

The place was alright. As others have mentioned the walls are quiet thin. We were given room 207 for 2 nights and in the evening learned the TV doesn't work at all. When I contacted the front desk they knew that the TV didn't work, wish they told us beforehand....they did end up refunding $50 from the stay to last make up for it, that was appreciated.

Port Renfrew is perfectly located to explore the area. The Lodge is clean, the beds are comfortable, and our room had a fridge, which was super helpful for self catering. Good value for money.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was awesome and the location is great. Stayed in room 205, check out the pub by the dock as well.

There were issues we were able to resolve ourselves and then the issues we could not. A strong unpleasant smell upon entering the room and a bathroom containing a dirty towel with a blood stain from, presumably, the previous guest were solvable and could have been overlooked had it not been for the non-existent insulation that had us clearly hearing a fight that the couple upstairs was having which prevented us from sleeping. The worst of all, however, was the conversation with the ‘customer service’ person who we contacted to resolve the noise issue. She had shot down all of my suggestions for action, including a common- sense one -to simply speak with the couple upstairs and let them know that we can hear their every word downstairs. She then volunteered to tell me that we could leave the premise early but would not receive any money back, sounding like this was certainly not the first time she received this request.The next day, a manager responded to my request to be contacted and gave us different information (that there was indeed a different room to move us to), however, we had left at this point. I have given her the exact feedback I gave above. My expectation of the lodge was to have basic accommodation where we could sleep while exploring the outdoors and this, unfortunately, did not happen. The only positive from this experience is that a.) we did not lose as much money as we would if we had booked the same room on the long weekend when the prices double and b.) they returned the cable I left in the room with me paying for the shipping.

Room and location were great. If you need wifi, this is not the place to be but luckily for us we were only there to explore. Unfortunately, our tv wasn’t working so when we did come back from adventuring during the day and we wanted to relax, we had no TV and no wifi. Our bedding hadn’t been cleaned so that wasn’t ideal and by the time we noticed it, the front desk was closed for the night and even if we wanted to contact someone, again, no wifi or cell service to do so. We didn’t have a great experience with the staff here except for Aiden and he was very friendly and very helpful so we definitely appreciated that.Trip typeVacation—>Response from the owner54 minutes agoCynthia, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We apologize for the TV not working and we have mentioned this to our technician. Regarding the wifi, due to the remote location of Port Renfrew, the wifi can be touch and go. We appreciate your kind words about Aiden and will let him know.EDIT & REPLY TO BUSINESS:I’d like to point out that we did not make the bedding dirty. We actually pulled the blanket back on our first night and there was blood splatter on the sheets so it wasn’t a matter of requesting clean bedding after we had slept in it. It wasn’t cleaned prior to us sleeping in bed. That was the issue with the bedding.

Great value for money!Very well appointed, neat, clean units.Nice big and comfortable bed, kitchenette and free parking.Great location to reach WCT or botanical Beach.Renfrew Pub is within walking distance.Highly recommended!

We stayed for one night in early June as a couple.We booked the night very last minute, but it was a great value for the room. We were pleasantly surprised based on last minute we booked it. We stayed in room 209, facing the rock pile, if you have the option to face the main office or the Renfrew pub I think it would be a better view.Room was clean and new all around. Had a fridge with a coffee maker. Wifi was a little spotty but we knew this ahead of time.Quick walk across the street to the Renfrew pub.

The room was not what we expected, in a good way! I didn’t think we’d have so many appliances. We had a microwave, a kettle, coffee maker, and a fridge. We brought along microwavable food and instant soup so the appliances came in handy. The room was nice and clean. I really loved the local coffee that was provided…we had to ask for more! They also provided creamer and multiple types of sugar. I believe there were different types of teas, but I didn’t get a proper look. We got a pet friendly room that opened up to a grassy area with a lovely view.
