The communication with this company is poor at best. My first claims adjuster was deceitful did not do anything he said he did, laughed at me after my car accident. The one star is for Gail the only one the properly communicated with me. I am still waiting for our new claims rep to get back to us after multiple emails and Gail advising to contact us. They only email was to tell me to go clean my car out…disappointed, no trust with them at all. Aviva you should be embarrassed .

I’ve been with this company for nearly 10 years. Just recently I’ve tried to get in contact with my broker and/or someone at the company and found it to be impossible to reach anyone to help with an issue I'm having. I’ve tried reaching out to other insurance companies and not found anywhere near the same difficulty in communicating.

I am sharing so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else.I moved back to Ontario from BC and I decided to insure my truck with Aviva insurance company. They gave me a hard time about me wanting full coverage for a 2006 GMC sierra durmax , ( they asked for pictures of the truck to get full coverage). I needed to get insurance quickly because my BC policy was about to expire so I told them I won’t take full coverage but I need fire and thief on my policy. I know I asked for fire and thief a few times over during that phone call. Aviva then decided to only but liability on my policy. My truck was taken from work a few months later and when I called Aviva they said I didn’t have fire and thief on my policy. I am convinced that Aviva knew that GMC Durmax are very popular trucks in Ontario and a lot of them are stolen and that’s why they decided not to put fire and thief on my policy. I do not recommend Aviva. I will never use the company ever again for anything and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with aviva so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Check your policy’s folks, don’t trust them. Also they kept taking payments out my account after the truck was stolen!!! Which they still haven’t returned. Looking back I wished I would a taken the time to look for a better company before trusting this company. I will be checking reviews before I buy from here on out.

After my car accident, my auto and medical claims were processed promptly. The employees I spoke to were kind, patient and helpful. I was able to get a fair price for my car and treatment for my injuries. Transferring my insurance was very easy with customer support, and I am thankful for this insurance company that was there for me at a very difficult time.

I am currently dealing with a claim advisor (Alison Ross) who is not responding to any form of communication with me regarding my claim. I have found my experience extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I am having to chase my own insurance company down for information. Would NOT recommend Aviva to anyone.

Like many others on here, Aviva does not respond to me, my reputable RV service and repair department, and now not even to our broker who paired us with Aviva. This was my first claim ever and the ins. adjuster sent out by Aviva didn't even get on the roof to address the issue, but instead made an eyeball judgment while leaning on a ladder. Nor did they allow us to send in an independent inspection done by our RV service and repair shop. Not to mention the damage done to our trailer was roughly the same damage the neighboring trailer received, all from a decaying tree in between us. The tree was in such bad shape that the park had it removed before someone personally got hurt by it.Definitely not a very pleasant first experience!

It is really disappointing that after honestly paying every single penny and relying on company to help us in bad times the company fails to help or take any responsibility. I’m doing multiple calls and several emails everyday but no help is being offered. The solution offered is of no help whatsoever. I’m trying to get things fixed but what is the point of having an insurance and paying $550 every month when I am not getting assistance when I need the most. It is heartbreaking and is affecting me mentally and emotionally, I truly did expect better from Aviva. Really disappointed.

Worst insurance company ever. No one seems to know what they are doing.Was in an accident almost two months ago, which wasn’t my fault . I had to do the work. Have talked to at least a dozen different claims people. Emailed several times and no response. I am still waiting to hear regarding payment .They suck will never recommend.they Fired the one agent who was on the ball during my claim.

So both our car and home insurance have been with Aviva for more than five years. We didn’t know Aviva is using Sedgwick to handle the claims. We had a car accident in mid December when travel to NYC, hit black ice, car totaled. Filed claim immediately after the accident. It is a straightforward claim, no injury, no third party involved, just the damage of the car. So it has been almost 3 months now, we haven’t received anything from the claim. Only two short phone calls from two different agent. Nothing has been done. Nothing has been reimbursed. Our personal items in the car haven’t shipped to us. No agent contacted us unless we chase. No adjuster gives us the quote. Just dead silence. Every time when we call Aviva, they said it’s handled by the third party. There’s nothing they could do. Is Aviva insurance a fraud? Are you purposely delaying or not paying us? How could I trust you if something happen to our house? Please pull our files from Sedgwick and resolve it ASAP!

Was a customer for 2 years and its the most scamming place i ever been to. Called them one day because i was a new driver and i panicked when i hit the sideline of the highway during a snow storm because I thought I might need help. When i got home my car was completely okay so I called and said well nothing is damaged..it’s not an accident i just panicked. 2 years later after they increased my insurance, I switched. I get the news from the new company that I have an accident recorded at fault on my record AND money been payed out towards fixing my car!!!!!!!!! Absolute lies!!!!!! Contacted aviva and they said they can’t remove it because the agent reported as an accident because I panicked!!! Can’t believe they take advantage of people’s situations like this in a moment of panic. He should have advised me at least that if nothing was damaged then its not an accident. And excuse me when did they ever payed for fixing the car that wasn’t even damaged!!! Scam scam scam.
