Code Ninjas Richmond

Our son had taken coding classes for a couple years at a different school before joining Code Ninja in 2021. We were pleasantly surprised that he took on the code ninja setting so well because he had lost interest in coding due to the pandemic restrictions at his old coding school.After his trial session at Code Ninja, he immediately asked us to sign him up! As he progressed through the first few belts, he asked us to increase his sessions from once a week to twice a week because of how much he loves it.The CN Rmd team has provided great support for our son’s learning. Since our son progressed quicker than the expected pace through the levels, the CN team took appropriate action to ensure the experience of their staff meet our son’s game development growth.Our son tells us “ their sensais ( teachers) are friendly and helpful especially when you need help“ he also likes the clean, bright and cheerful setting in the dojo.We appreciate their clear communications if there are any staffing changes that would affect our schedule. We are happy with the CN Rmd’s determination in supporting our son’s learning needs thus far.

Code Ninjas is a great learning centre where knowledge is shared, and learning takes place. At Code Ninjas, my knowledge of coding has increased exponentially and I have learned in a fun way. The teachers and environment are always very positive and I enjoy attending class every week. Code Ninjas has offered me new opportunities and has allowed me to pursue different dreams/goals. Thank you Code Ninjas.

Update: My critique is more geared toward the Code Ninjas brand and not this specific Richmond location. The owner of this location has been in touch with me and has been doing everything he can to address the issues I point out below. It sounds like there should be better integration strategy between the Code Ninjas head office and the individual locations; perhaps then the issues with the buggy dashboard app would be resolved.Pros:So far this program seems pretty good as far as the curriculum goes. It's exciting to see my child progress to the next color belt and this has been a cute way to relate my child's progress to their study of martial arts. I've seen that any issues with staffing and admin have been enthusiastically addressed by the owner, who is dedicated to running their business well. My score would be 5 stars for this location.Cons:The parent portal has recently changed to an app with much less intuitive UX design. I'm told this is a Code Ninjas head office roll out. I receive emails with links to my child's submitted projects that go to broken urls on my iPhone and no error or redirection message provided. I have been unable to get access to the monthly billing receipt for payments, and was told they are in the app when I emailed about this. Upon thorough inspection, receipts are definitely not offered in the app, and their work around has been for me to email each month to request a copy of proof of payment. In today's world this sort of hassle is quite unnecessary, and unexpected from a brand that teaches coding.My gripes above are only related to the user experience as a parent. My son seems to be making solid progress in learning precursors to JavaScript.

This is so amazing. My 5 year old absolutely loves his course and his instructor and he never wants to leave after 1 hour. I highly recommend Code Ninjas, I say it to all my parent friends. The people are amazing and answer all your questions and are so nice. Thank you for keeping my son so excited and focused.

10/10 for kids looking to get into game development

Code Ninjas have been a fantastic experience. My favourite things about Code Ninjas include learning, content, and the senseis.First, the hands-off learning really helps me learn at my own pace. I don't have deadlines to worry about, allowing me to take my time and fully understand the material. Second, I enjoy the content I am learning. The games I have coded have all been quite fun. Not only am I having fun playing my games, but, I get the satisfaction of knowing I coded all of them. Finally, the teachers create a fun environment for me. They are very helpful and support me when I struggle. They often break down the code step by step and explained the various functions. This allows me to truly understand what I am doing.Overall, my experience with Code Ninjas has been amazing. I believe that it teaches students how to code in a very personalized way. Allowing us to gain knowledge we can use for the rest of our lives.
