Ignoring for one second the good that I think public libraries can and are doing for low income communities and homeless who can benefit from an environment of access:The staff at this location were rude and indirect, bordering on being coercive.I asked on signing up for TPL if I could get a list of any fines or charges that could be accrued through their system.I was told that lost or damaged books, as well as books not returned once checked out, we’re fine able. I was then told to wait while one coworker came to gossip about another coworker who was sending something outbound incorrectly and they clearly needed to keep discussing it mid-transaction.I brushed it off and asked if I could access the resource terminals to search for books in the system, and they directed me to a terminal - I asked if I would need a log-in, and they just pointed at a computer. Couldn’t log in without a code, so went back to the desk and waited for another librarian/tech to return. I was told I couldn’t access the database without a library card (??? - this was what I was waiting in).Their desk attendant told me that they would search for the books for me, and then proceeded to list every book Bell Hooks ever wrote in random sequence. So rather than just access it myself, the librarian put the first 6-7 on hold, including a novel or two I requested, then told me I would get a phone call when it was in.Three weeks later I return to renew the book I checked out the day of my previous visit, and the same librarian who was spending their time chatting during my transaction tells me I owe fees for not picking up the books I wasn’t notified had arrived sometime in the previous three weeks. I was then lectured that it takes so much work for the techs to reserve them that I must not waste their time.I think we have different opinions about what was a waste of time. If your attendants aren’t willing to adequately explain the system to a new user within the 35 min transaction that it apparently takes to request a card to do my own database search, the three weeks without the promised notification, and an explanation about how difficult your job is, I think there might be more behind the way your staff are *professional* than your passive aggressive assertion that I must have just not been organized enough.Added a star above zero for the removal of a $1 for every book your staff reserved for me without bothering to use my requested method of contact.

My main suggestion is that I wish security had more authority to remove sketchy individuals. Certain patrons are often loud and disorderly, especially with drug use. I don't necessarily blame the library. Unfortunately, Kristyn Wong-Tam promotes these ghettos by continuously adding Toronto Housing and related services to the area. The neighbourhood already has pharmacies, hostels and other community services geared to individuals with addictions. Ultimately, it brings the wrong people to this library, a service paid by hardworking taxpayers. I think that patrons should be asked to place their phones on mute, and to call back by stepping outside (especially during spring, summer and fall). Anyone appearing to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol should be asked to leave: libraries should be quiet enough for local residents to read and study. Other than the above, the staff are helpful, friendly and the resources are adequate.

Small library. The variety of books is fine. There’s a draw for museums tickets and English classes. I couldn’t do neither.

Although I'm rating this library a 4 out of 5. I was very surprised to find out today that all Toronto Public Libraries systems were down. No computer use. No internet. No photocopier. I went on the website just before I went to the library which stated it was still open. Very disappointing. Had important documents to print & photocopy today, wish I had of known prior to me going. I just came home from the hospital & that's why it was important for me to get this printed & photocopied.

Great place to unwind as there is a very low volume of noise. Wifi is strong and the people are well behaved.

A small branch, but it has all the library necessities. The washrooms are awful and smell strongly of urine, but at least they're there for use. There are homeless folks that frequent this branch and don't smell the best, but the branch doesn't feel unsafe.

Amazing TPL branch with spacious sections and bookshelves on the ground floor. The opening hours are really helpful. Print and scanning facilities are a great asset.

Apart from the regular library services, you can get Museum and Art passes, called MAP from here. It will give free access for you and your family to premium locations like Toronto Zoo, Ontario Science center, Royal Ontario museum etc. Passes are limited and will be issued on first come first basis on Saturdays. You would need to reach a little earlier than opening hours to grab these passes. The photo attached with this give you an Idea of how many passes and locations available per week.

Fairly small library, but still all the basics a library goer would need. Decent selection of books and some computers that can be reserved (reserve ahead of time, because they fill up fast). Self-check out works pretty well and holds have come in fairly quickly. Be aware that seating is limited and cleanliness and safety protocol are somewhat strict.
