My wife and I got a mortgage through Todd and his team back in March 2022 - right before all the rate hikes began.The good - Todd and his team secured us a lender in mediocre fashion; still with a ton of stuff we had to correct and extra documents and the back-and-forth that is pretty typical for this stuff.The bad - We were offered 1.6% variable or 2.7% fixed. We were advised to take the variable rate, probably because brokers make more commission for pushing variable, and not because it was actually the better choice for us. Well, with the variable rate mortgage, we actually didn't even make our first payment at what our payments were supposed" to be
