Recently bought chicken from this shopWhen started cooking, it really dissolved into small pieces in water and literally made dish bad. Clearly it is very old chicken frozen for longer days. We trust meat shops than supermarkets for freshness but just selling things without checking the quality is poor. Never recommend this shop to buy chickenMy second bad experience with this shop.

I have been using Halendas more and more as they get their meat locally! The owner has been awesome. I met one of their staff, Tony. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Gave me great ideas for our Easter ham…. Everyone raves about it, I followed up with a 1.5 inch ham steak, totally mouth watering to look at and eat, again people that shared it loved it. This past weekend wings were on sale with a recipe for Maple bacon jam BBQ SAUCE! We got our wings, the bacon, etc! I made them in the oven, and they were delectable! Totally enjoyed by all!!!

Just went in here to get a few things and the people in their where really nice and friendly! While I was choosing want I wanted they didn’t rush with anything and take their time with their meats. I went home and ate some of the stuff and that is good quality meat!Although I’m sad this place and the plaza is turning into condos soon. But non the less I’m still gonna enjoy Halenda’s while I can. Thank you guys!

Halendas Meats had been in the Durham region for a long time. The stores are always well staffed, and the stock is always fresh. Service is quick and knowledgeable. We do most of our protein shopping at Halendas. They also have a fantastic selection of cured meats available they make fresh, in house. Definitely try the peameal bacon and kielbasa they specialize in those products.
