H&R Block

We have been using this location for our taxes since we lived in Oshawa (three, maybe four years now) and haven't bothered to change locations since moving to Whitby.Online appointment booking is a little tricky. My husband and I book together, but it didn't let us put that in so they were a bit surprised when both of us showed up together, but it was easier than getting through on the phone to book. We waited maybe two minutes before being seen for our appointment, and it took maybe 25 minutes to do (despite it being two weeks before taxes were due).The service you get is entirely dependent on the representative you see, unfortunately. Last year and the year before that, we had a woman who was extremely unpleasant and condescending, though she did the job quickly and thoroughly. The first year we attended, as well as this year, we had two different representatives who were both friendly, had a sense of humour, and talked us through the process. I wish their customer service was a bit more consistent, but we were very happy with our experience this year. :)

I made an appointment WEEKS in advance only to arrive 15 minutes before my appointment to be told that the only person working was quadruple booked. After waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes I was finally taken in. I have been coming to this location for a number of years but this visit is making me re-think where to get my taxes done.

Kiran, was a great tax pro who filed my taxes efficiently. She did it thoroughly and I was very satisfied. Definitely will come back next year!

Normally I have a great experience here. But when I went to go and pick up my tax return after I dropped it off a few days ago….. There was a new receptionist than normal it was a young guy, he was standing up straight with his hands in his pocket, had one AirPod in his ear and said “Whatsup” when I walked in. Then when he was sifting through my papers he told me I had no return when I actually had about $500. When I questioned him he just kept saying “I don’t know”. This was extremely frustrating… he had zero customer service skills and it seemed to me someone just let their kid take over the front desk. Thankfully an accountant came out to help me and the matter got settled. Will not be back while he is a receptionist there.

Really disappointed. I waited 35 mins after my appointment and still the tax specialist wasn't done. The worst thing is no one cared to tell me how long it would take or what's going on. Its like they don't care about their clients. I left and probably will give my business to someone else. Don't see the point of making an appointment when you have to wait so long.

We didn't make an appointment and walked in. We were told the wait wouldn't be long as there was no one in front of us.When someone became free suddenly there was a person in front.After waiting 40 minutes someone else walked in off the street and was immediately taken into a cubicle where they have been discussing whatever for an additional 30 minutes now.I questioned the receptionist as to why someone was taken ahead of us and she stated they were giving the person a few quote yet we can clearly hear them doing his taxes.Will never come here again!

I recommend! They took a huge weight off my shoulders. Extremely happy that filing taxes (oh dear) was made simple. It's no longer a daunting task. Thanks guys.

If you don't know what H&R Block is. In short, they do taxes.

My son and I have both had our taxes done at this location for the past six years. We have always had great service. The two tax specialists have been very quick and very informative. I’ve only waited for my appointment one time and I don’t mind waiting for good service!

My friend referred me here and I did not have to wait for long. The tax specialist was professional and explained everything to me in depth. I felt comfortable to ask more questions.Thanks H&R Block! :)
