Charlebois Roofing (1996) Ltd

Bought a house last year and noticed water damage on the living room ceiling. Previous owners informed us that their roof had leaked and Charlebois Roofing repaired and re-shingled the roof. They left us the receipts because they still had about 18 months left on the warranty.Earlier this year the roof began leaking in the same spot. I contacted Charlebois and they told me the warranty was non-transferable and that they would not be honouring it. I asked for them to produce in writing where it said their warranty was non-transferable and they wouldn't. After our first phone call the owner contacted me and said she would come look at the roof because she didn't want negative feedback on the company.After looking at the roof with a co-worker they decided to patch the seal around our chimney where the leak was believed to be. Because there was still some snow on the ground she informed me they wouldn't be able to do much else and would contact me later in the spring.I never heard from Charlebois again and the roof continued to leak. I was forced to pay another company to come fix the leak which cost me nearly $700. While fixing the leak the roofer found the following done by Charlebois:-we have a low slope roof and Charlebois used the incorrect shingles.-our roof requires extra underlay by code which Charlebois did not do.-instead of installing flashing around the chimney (where the leak was located) Charlebois just used an extra shingle.-the seal around the chimney was never done properly.Do not use this company. They took the previous owners of our house for a ride then couldn't even do the bare minimum for us to keep us happy.
