The restaurant is easily overlooked from the outside and I truly underestimated it walking in. I wasn't even hungry but the food literally blew me away. They severed me THE BEST injera that I have ever felt and tasted. It was tender, oh so soft to the touch and packed full of flavour! On top of that...... lamb curry was just just perfect! There is nothing bad I can say about this place. Decor is simple and server was extremely friendly. Price is so good in comparison to the food that you get. I can't wait to try all that's on their menu!

Unique and delicious. Tasted different form some of the Toronto Ethiopian restaurants I have tried. We got doro wut, lamb, and veggie platter. Portion is great. Each order comes with two injera bread.

First time trying this type of cuisine. We got the beef tibsi and lamb tibsi and they were both delicious. Really unique flavours. The man serving us was very kind and helpful.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal here with my husband a couple of weeks ago. The food was so authentic, plentiful and cooked beautifully! We enjoyed the coffee ceremony at the end. Service was great, attentive but not overbearing and the atmosphere was perfect. I appreciated that the music wasn't too loud as well. Next time we are in town we will be back!

Good Ethiopian food. Each plate is big enough to be shared by 2 persons easily. They serve halal meat. The honey ginger tea was super. Liked the other dishes too.

I have eaten here twice already. The food is excellent. Make sure to order the spicy version, so that it is authentic. Order the vegetarian platter, the Doro Wat and the tibsi and all were excellent. The injera is soft and fluffy. The portions are adequate. This is my new favorite Ethiopian/ Eritrean restaurant.

Beef was amazing but lamb was too chewy for my taste. The staff and vibe were perfect though, plan on coming back many times.

Food was great! Some foods are missing from their menu due to some shortages. But still I wish the takeaway package can be separated(sauce) in a different container as it leaked through the foam hinged box. Will give it try again!

After spotting this new African restaurant in the Victoria & Westmount area of Kitchener (in the Victoria Hills Plaza on Hazelglen, beside ONKAR Foods), my wife and I popped in after work just after 8 pm on a Thursday evening, hoping to be able to try a couple of dishes before the restaurant closed at 9 pm.K-W African Cuisine offers food from Ethiopia in East Africa. Although not as intimate and cozy as Kitchener’s other Ethiopian restaurant (Muya Restaurant on Highland Rd), the décor is colourful, there was authentic Ethiopian music playing in the background (I always appreciate the appropriate ethnic music in ethnic restaurants!), there were about a dozen other patrons in the place (who appeared to be of East African descent, which was encouraging), and the owner was warm and welcoming. The menu is more limited than Muya’s, but was attractive and still offered a good selection of dishes. We ordered the Doro Wot (chicken cooked in butter & sautéed onions and seasoned with garlic, fresh ginger, berbere & herbs, and served with lots of spicy, savoury sauce and a boiled egg) and Beef Tibs (tender pieces of marinated beef cooked with peppers, onions, garlic, tomato, and spices). To be honest, having eaten at the Muya several times, we were not expecting the food here to attain quite that level of taste. Boy, were we surprised! Both meals were absolutely delicious! And the bill for the two dishes came to $30 before tip. Needless to say, we will be back to try some of their other offerings!Highly recommended. Give them a try!
