Scarborough Family Dentist - Dr. Hoffman & Dr. Saad

I had the pleasure of having Dr. Maryam Omidi as my dentist. I recently switched dental offices and was thrilled at the level of professionalism and attention to detail this dr has. Not only did the dr help with what I needed to be fixed, but also made a great suggestion that no other dentist had in 15 years. Dr. Omidi is certainly an asset to this practise and I have no doubt I will be coning to her if I need more work done, or simply for a routine check up.

I was scheduled in to see Dr Omidi for an emergency extraction. I have had plenty of teeth extracted before successfully including three wisdom teeth. One of the extractions was successfully done by Dr Omidi’s colleague in her office. Dr Omidi ‘lectured’ me about not spending the money to see a dentist for a wellness check (I’m low income) and when I said I had teeth pulled before she said I wasn’t sure because I saw one with pokey bits (I had a tooth fall out at the beginning of the pandemic when dentists were closed) She was not successful in freezing me. (My previous dentist advised you have to hit the nerve right or the patient will not be frozen) I continued to be in pain. After three attempts at ‘freezing’ me and using something called a burr I was in agony. I was in the chair 45 minutes while she dug around and I wasn’t frozen (my nose always had pins and needles when I was successfully frozen and this time it was not and I felt every painful moment) she then told me she was sending me to an expensive surgeon who would pull the tooth easily. She wrote on my referral that I was a panicker. It costed approximately $500 more than what she said she was going to charge me. I was lucky I had three seniors in my community who stepped forward to assist me. I’ve had two other dentists successfully pull 9 teeth out of me without a peep and in 10 minutes a tooth. I have completely lost trust in this dentist and would sincerely hope she reconsiders her approach. I would never want another patient to go through what I did.

Very nice clinic with friendly staff. I've been going there since 2008 and their service have always been consistently very good. I would definitely recommend their office to anyone in need of a new dentist in the Scarborough area.
