Don't get me wrong this is a great library but I feel like customer services should be improvedI completely dreaded going to the library because of awful customer servicesThe older staff trend to be ruder while the younger one trend to appeal to me moreWhenever I need help with printer or fax I feel like staff trend to be a nuisance in helping me out always rolling their eye whenever I asked themAnd I just hate how some books don't get scanned at the self-serve and I has to bring it to the front desk isn't the library suppose to be self-serve? I feel it defeat the whole purpose and I feel staff secretly judge every book I bring to the customer services desk which is a violation of intellectual freedom video games are another stories as it reduces thief which I understand but books isn't really a highly valued items.I found the collection at the Londonderry Branch very lacking despite the diverse demographic I always has to hold books from other branches which take a few days which I don't normally mindI feel like Londonderry should adapt their customer services from Clareview or other branches in Edmonton maybe learn valuable customer services skills and proper mannerism to clueless customer learning to use technology or other library materialI just strongly dislike interacting with the librarian at this branch I can tell that they don't want to help me or serve meAlso this library isn't good at handling people who are prone to mental health crisis I get that they aren't equipped to that but it could've been handled differently anyway went to the library in a midst of a psychosis without realizing (big mistake) and they suspended me for 1 month which I feel is kind of discriminatory aren't security suppose to be equipped in handling mental health crisis? it could've been dis-escalated with help of security present in training with psychiatric nursing certification but no they decided to suspend me instead of trying to intervene me out of psychosis I could've been a danger to myself or other without realizing they don't understand that I'm not doing inappropriate stuff on purpose and it was my subconscious messing with meIn conclusion this isn't really a good library in term of customer services I love EPL but this library have definitely gone downhill over the past few years all of my favorite librarian have left this branch and now it just brain-dead staff managing the library with no personality or enthusiasm to work at this branch this library have definitely lost it charm and I don't think I'll be a frequent customer or feel comfortable hitting up the customer service desk until they change staff attitude I feel like I'm a nuisance everytime I walk-up the service desk and it hard especially for those with social anxiety or invisible disability guess I just get my book at Coles since they have better staffI hope the manager see this and realize the mistake he done in suspending me because I feel this is unfair and left a foul taste in my mouth in regard to how toxic the staff can secretly be but I highly doubt anything will be changed

The staff talks very loudly, makes impossible to study. They should be an example with their behaviour to people, if we also speak this out loud, will they tolerate us?? I don’t want to hear about their personal topics in the library, where I come for a peaceful environment to study!

The Edmonton Public Library provides an essential service to the local community. The ability for local residents to get access to the internet and other information. Movies, music and books. The EPL membership card is free for Edmonton residents. This location is convenient and clean. It’s well lit. It’s a new location so it’s bright and clean.

Nice little library, but staff are louder than the public, seems to be a common theme among EPL staff...they know libraries are supposed to be quiet right?

I feel all Epl in Edmonton share the downside. It all feel like a place to drop kids like it's a daycare. Trying to study and you have kids playing, running around. (At this location there is no door at the study room) this week there was kids yelling profanity. Adult/staff having loud conversation by the study room. I don't recommend this place if your looking for a quiet place to read or study, but other place arent't that better. Example: The other day at clareview location there was a kid faking playing with his body in the study room. always kids playing running around.

*This is an old review that keeps popping up. Service is still excellent after all these years.*Londonderry public library is always 5 stars! They go above and beyond, they are friendly, inviting, helpful, approachable and very informative. We love their programmes! Especially the new toddler programme at 6pm on Wednesdays! They have movies, books in different languages, games, programmes, gaming station and computers all for different ages. This new library is more inviting and cozy than the old one. One of the only suggestions I would make is to add more random sitting spaces. Add more chairs or stools or benches through the library that more adults can use when they come in with their children.
