With a balanced approach to sustainable, well designed and functional properties, WestUrban truly touches on all aspects that make new property development important: city and neighboring community needs, market needs and stakeholder satisfaction. It's rare to find a Developer who genuinely cares about having all ships rise with the tide. Kudos, WestUrban.

I drove an hour from Vancouver to Squamish to view their latest development, Northyards II. Before I made the long trip, I was assured the units would be ready by February 1. When I received the proposed lease, the move-in date was not guaranteed and Westurban had complete discretion to indefinitely delay the move-in date and retain the deposit during any such delay. When I asked for more comfort around a potential delay, the leasing office refused to proceed with the rental. Complete waste of time. The staff were also incredibly pushy and rude. I would advise against dealing with WestUrban based on my terrible experience. Sharp business practices. I dodged a bullet.

I relocated from Alberta to Campbell River and feel lucky to have found the last unit in their Southpoint development. The location was amazing, right on the ocean with a Boardwalk that goes on for miles. Beth was amazing to deal with.... she even helped vacuum my unit as I was moving in. I wouldn't hesitate to rent with them again.

I am a subcontractor and I did a job for this company few years back. I didnt get paid and I lined the work place. Their lawyer asked me to remove that and my money will be in trust and I need to take it to court. I did that and court rewarded me with the amount they owed me. When my lawyer contact their lawyer for my money, he told my lawyer the court has not jurisdiction to tell us what to do. As I spent enough money and time to so per say the joke of the law I stop following the matter. If you are a sub or you want to contract this company watch out. This way of business is their style. Shame on them.

I am extremely dissatisfied with this rental agency. We were trying to rent an apartment with them. They put us through the whole process and made us wait two weeks told me I was fine to rent as a family. They sent us to view the apartment and than when I decided to go ahead with the rental they said because I have two children I could only rent the two bedroom! I wanted a 1. I was also told my husbands job where he makes $3000 a month was not sufficient for the two bedroom. Who are they to tell me how big a space I can rent. They played with our time and didn’t even care. Don’t rent here, there are better places. They feel they can treat you badly cause their apartments are nice. It the perennial in penticton we had hoped for and it was Matthew who we were dealing with.

this company is all about the money and not there tenants. building is built very poorly leaving cracks in the walls door that are crooked or just don't shut at all. my front door doesn't shut unless I lock it and my bedroom door has to be held closed with tape and there is no way to fix it because its a door... also had countless issues with management as there is no on site manager so if u have an issue good luck, they don't respond to emails or issues that you have until they feel its necessary. I've had to have my washer replaced twice and now waiting for it to be fixed a third time because its leaking, when i had it replaced previously it took the management almost a month to respond to my emails and a couple more weeks to have it fixed. DO NOT RECOMMEND RENTING FROM THIS COMPANY

Wow, brand new building and able to move in early as soon as our suite was ready! The rental manager team is very responsive. Our apartment has high end finishes and is perfect! Already feels like home <3

My partner and I moved into the building on 300 gov in Duncan. Couple reasons of why we are giving a 1 star review. First, we were told we could be prorated for pushing our move in day back from the 1st to the 5th, they did not follow through. Our first night in the apartment we were locked out of the building and had to walk to a friends house because they had not programmed our fobs yet. Our AC didn’t work the entire time we rented here. We didn’t have a dishwasher for 3 months, they were apologetic for this so that was appreciated. The lease was 20+ pages long and we should have read it more carefully before deciding to rent here. Since we had to break the lease we had to pay an $800 fee, a $200 cleaning fee, and then we were told we had to pay $10-$15 per any hole in the wall bigger than a picture hanging nail, which wasn’t outlined in the lease. There are a lot of inconsistencies in the building that are rather noticeable and we heard many similar stories to ours from others who live in the building. It’s also a shame that an 840 square ft apartment that is $1825 a month is considered “affordable housing”

First time renting a Apartment, so finding some silly rules but would rather have rules and live in a clean and well kept development and up until say 1 week ago this was the case ,and then we all got the news they had sold 3 property in the Comox Valley ,so of course there where questions ,rent increase ,leases, but mine was what kind of management company are we going to get ??? Before we leases the place we checked out the property management companies and where very happy about renting from WestUnion ,the place can be a palace but if not run correctly it can be a very unpleasant place to live ,and low and behold that's just what we got a management company that has terrible review to running a complex ,rats, washing machines not working only 1 works out of 6 , mold ,who knows maybe it will be different ........So we are so disappointed with WestUrban selling as soon as they had everyone s lease sighed, but my fingers are crossed that maybe just maybe, the new owners will look after this new lovely building.I can't speak for all the units but the 3 bedrooms units have NO storage , 3 bottom and 2 top cupboard in the kitchen ,we are using the oven space to store our pots and pans . There is no Airing /linen cupboard so where do you keep sheets and towels ,no broom closet to keep you floor cleaning stuff Or any kind of cleaning materials ,we have just found the space very badly layed out ,toilet door is situated right by where the dining table is Nice" not .On the plus side the units are very nicely finished and spotless on moving in day and our resident manager has been awesome .Hope this is helpful to some of you looking for a new home .I will update once we know how new owners will be handling thinks ."

This is a story of maybe sour grapes or unprofessional dealings you make the judgment! I applied to rent one of their suites in Duncan August 18, 2021. I am a 75 year old spry retired property manager with a beagle, I saw the new building with available suites. Thought awesome my family an friends are on the island this would work well. Now I am a low income senior but have a daughter who supplements my rent. When asked she submitted very personal documents of her company an bank account. I submitted all my documents for a studio at $1095.00 per month. They said from the property manager they would accept my daughter as a co-signer. Moving forward we waited for the approval to this unit. Nothing for quite few days then out came a notice basically approval, leases are now being sent out, however the suite you asked for is rented. They had an open house on the weekend an rented it! Now would you not think you have a Client ready to take the suite just waiting for the lease to move forward but you rented it to someone else. We kept in touch they knew i wanted it but yet they rented it. Now the leasing agent when I phoned about it said thats what happened, they rented it out on the weekend. No apology but said maybe a different unit, if you note apparently our application is approved by offering another unit. However they are all rented the studio’s, the leasing agent knew this was a budget requirement for a studio suite. The last email all-units are rented we will keep you in mind. You should have kept me in mind when i applied for the suite on the website an submitted my application before you rented it out to someone else. This application was submitted before the open house by quite a few days. Having dealt for thirty years in property management an taught property management in a college my expectations are not what is expected of a management company, fair play indeed is not here. I hope your tactics change in the future! Barbara
