Carlo’s Bake Shop Vending Machine

This was not good. Not even a little bit. It’s definitely more of a gimmick than a quality product. I bought the rainbow cake and the chocolate one for my husband. The rainbow was not good. It tasted worse than a Walmart pre made cake. There was wayyyy too much icing… could barely even taste the cake. Honestly don’t waste your money.

Whenever I shop at the mall, I see this cake ATM in the middle of a few stores I go to. I was always intimidated in buying from the vending machine, since the price for the cake is way expensive for my liking (I’d say the only reason why I’d buy a cake from the machine is because I used to watch “Cake Boss” episodes and wonder if I’d ever try a cake/sweet treat Carlo’s, knowing my older brother went back in 2016). However, after buying an Uncle Tetsu cake (a “fresh” cheesecake that’s very popular within the mall - everyone buys it and it sells out fast), I decided to give one of these cakes (the rainbow one) from the ATM a try, seeing as no one ever buys a cake from the machine.The price was definitely something that made me come to the conclusion that you can buy something cheaper than this cake (like a grocery store iced cake that costs around 5-10 dollars plus tax). The ATM thankfully had forks to the side, so that was a plus. However, that’s all the praise I’ll be giving the cake machine. The cake itself is very dry and chewy. It looks like a decent rainbow cake (effort was made into it, seeing as there were 5 layers of cake colours), but that doesn’t cut it when the food your eating is a plain and sugary disaster. The sprinkles are also just dyed coloured sugar. I know it’s not supposed to be as fresh as a just baked cake since it’s being distributed, but I think a lot of people would enjoy having a “fresh” cake rather than a cake made from long ago.Overall, I’d give it 2 stars for the effort to have a cake machine and the experience. If you want a cake, there are better options in the mall compared to the cake ATM.

WORST CAKE slice I have ever tried! Save your money and your taste buds. I got the red velvet cake and it was dry and over salted. The icing tasted like crisco (gross!) My friend got the rainbow cake and it was just as bad. I tried giving it off to 5 other friends and everyone rejected it. It’s unfortunate since I am a fan of the show and had high hopes for this buddy!

I've seen this cake vending machine at Scarborough Town Centre and completely scoffed at the price of $10.I happened to see it when I visited Square One with my friend and we said f@#$ it.....YOLO lolShe got the Red Velvet and I got the Rainbow Cake as I don't eat chocolate. It was good to see the non chocolate options such as Carrot Cake and Vanilla Confetti Cake. It's best to enjoy it at room temperature as per the instructions.OMG this cake was AWESOME!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the rainbow cake. The cake to icing ratio was perfect and I didn't find it too sweet. My friend also enjoyed the Red Velvet cake.My only suggestion would be to have the forks individually wrapped as its DIY (do it yourself) dispensing. Some people or kids don't get take a fork and move on lol There were alot of open forks in the tray.I will definitely visit this cake ATM again....it was a worthy treat!!!!

Hate the new red packaging. The cake was squashed in so tightly you can't even get the slice out. The icing stickes to the container making it impossible to get the cake out and onto a plate. The cake too look suspiciously smaller than usual. And the packaging was so squashed it looked awful and unapplealing. I hope someone at Carlos Bakery sees this review and does something. The packaging too was so soft you can't put it in a bag without it getting squashed. Come on guys really?

It was a very beautiful place! I tried their apple crumb pie and their cannoli filling/crust. All were delicious. The staff were quite kind. The place was overall a great experience. I especially loved the little mouse hole with all the furniture in it. The only complaint I have is the stuff is overpriced. I mean duh it is Buddy's bakery and he's famous, so it is to be expected. But overall I reccomend going in there if you have the money.

Ordered 3 slices of cake from the ATM machine. That was a funny experience, a first for me. Process was quick and easy...$10 / slice.Ok the cakes...red velvet, rainbow and chocolate. Rainbow cake was ok, too much icing, reminded me of those box grocery store box cakes except more dense. Chocolate was better, nice medium dark flavour, rich and creamy, icing tasted great but heavy. My fav was the red velvet, great taste and density I like in a cake plus the icing was very delish. All slices were big and hefty but I really enjoyed the red velvet...would recommend that one or the chocolate.Only snapped pics of the two flavours when I got home cause I couldn't wait to eat the red velvet and see what this baker's hype was all about lol.

Recently they had something new in the vending machine and it was cannolis! I tried it out and I absolutely loved it it’s very big and very filling! You get 2 cannolis in a pack for $12 and something cents! I have also previously bought cake from this vending machine as well and honestly it’s amazing! So worth trying!

Ordering from the vending machine was a fun experience - loved watching the show whenever it was on tv so i had to try it. So i got 2 flavors chocolate and the rainbow one $25 for 2 slices. Very expensive lol but was a try for experience. In terms of the cake it was not good. I give it a 1 for the cool rainbow design. But i give 2 stars for the whole experience and for buddy!
