On behalf of our valued client,Oh The highly professional and heart-warming services offered by Nikoniko Homecare has made my great uncle’s life much better than it could have been. My great uncle has mobility problems and insists on living alone. We were very fortunate from the get-go to have been given Nikoniko’s contact by a friend. Elderly homecare was something brand new to us and as there are quite a few providers floating around in Canada, nailing an excellent one right from the start saved us the trouble and disappointment of trial and error. Yuko Abeyama skyped with us briefly, before coming for a detailed assessment of my great uncle. The skeptical octogenarian was won over by her sincerity, professionalism, and contagious energy almost immediately. Yuko then allocated Yumiko and Misa, both wonderful members of her team, to the care of my uncle. They shower him, help him with physiotherapy exercises, clean, and cook Japanese and Chinese meals he likes, sometimes going out of their way to cater to his needs and cravings. Importantly, they also chat with him. My great uncle is very sociable by nature and not having anyone to engage with over a prolonged period of time can take its toll on his psyche. He looks forward to their arrival every other day as if waiting for friends. I also like the fact that Nikoniko has an excellent app that Yuko and her team use for updates on clients’ well-being, services rendered, communication with family members, payment details, and health-related information. In all that they do, the Nikoniko team is reliable, efficient, and thoughtful. The rates are very reasonable, especially for the level and quality of services offered. My family and I are immensely grateful for all that they have done for us.

Yuko and her team of ''ANGELS'' enrich AND prolong the life of my 94 year old father, daily! I live in Ontario AND my dad lives in Vancouver, so knowing that these care givers are there for him, EVERY DAY, no matter what needs to be done, is a blessing!! The team is always available, even when not physically present at my dad's. There have been a few emergencies and a quick call or e-mail, to one of the angels, ALWAYS results in fast action!! For that reason and more, I will ALWAYS be indebted to this incredible team of passionate, devoted, reliable, caring and professional hard working care givers! !They report, daily, on my dad and I am able to see and read the reports, on the Nikoniko Home Care website, and make comments and requests.If I had to give a rating to NIKONIKO HOME CARE, anything less than 100 percent would be a lie!!I will NEVER be able to thank these incredible women, enough, for everything they do for my father, whether it is bringing him a cup of tea, sitting and listening to his stories, attending to his physical needs, taking dad out on errands and medical appointments, grocery shopping for him, cleaning, cooking and reminding him to eat, drink and take his meds!!It is ABUNDANTLY clear how much they care about dad; they are not just doing their job, they go above and beyond, with so much warmth, EVERY DAY!!With much gratitude and joy, Miriam!!

I’ve been meaning to share the most wonderful care services given by Nikoniko Home Care. Since my mother passed away from severe stroke and dementia in June 2021, my mourning period of time is somewhat receding, and I can finally write about my experiences.First, and utmost, Nikoniko caregivers are the most reliable and supportive, who are able to deliver the highest quality with compassion and smile. My bedridden mother received 6 months of 24/7 care service at home, and I initially had to use several home care agencies to get the number of staff going. Nikoniko caregivers were, without doubt, the most outstanding of all in every aspect. I had asked the founder and president, Yuko Abeyama san, to take over 100% of my mother’s care. It must have been the most difficult reshuffling of stuff, but Yuko san made it happen! She is one determined woman who sticks to her promises. Since then, I didn’t feel alone in this battle, and it was wonderful, amidst the most difficult time, to be surrounded by friendly and trustworthy members. They have indeed become our friends and family. It must have made such a difference to my suffering mother.If you need a quality care for yourself or your loved one, I would highly recommend Nikoniko Home Care. I guarantee you can trust them. I was very worried about my mom last year when she started to forget things, repeat herself numerous times and not take good care of herself. I met Yuko, Registered Nurse and Director of Nikoniko and she put my mind at ease immediately. Seeing her smile and feeling the warmth of her personality made me so happy. I felt meeting Yuko was meant to be!In a short period of time, Chikaro from Nikoniko helped my mom with some household chores, some brain/memory exercises and going for walks. It was good for my mom to have company with someone who is fluent in Japanese and also in English when communicating with me. She was kind and patient with my mom. Several years ago a friend told me about the wonderful services he had been receiving from Nikoniko Home Care and suggested I check them out. Following his advice and connecting with Nikoniko was one of the best enhancements to my life I ever come upon. Not only are all their staff members well-trained and expert in all the services they perform, they seem to really care for their clients. They listen carefully to what I say, they seem to hear what I don’t actually say in words; they appear to understand intuitively the experience I have had: both physically and emotionally. Often they seem to understand when I try to describe an ache or pain I want them to deal with; almost as if they have X-ray vision and can relieve pain with what seem like hands of gold.

Nikoniko Home Care has been taking care of my mom for three years now and it's the best thing that I could have done for her. Since I live in Japan I have to trust someone to take care of my mom for any of her needs and Nikoniko and their caregivers have done a fantastic job helping my mom and making her life a lot easier. They've done a great job cleaning her place on a weekly basis, assisting her with bathing, doing simple exercises and playing brain games, grocery shopping, and spending quality time sharing meals together. Every caregiver that has spent time with my mom works hard and I can tell that they genuinely care about her and take pride in doing a good job. It's made my life a lot easier knowing that she's well taken care of and I don't have to worry about her. My mom has been able to thrive in a cleaner and healthier environment and she's even changed some of her bad habits because her caregiver pushes her to be better. I truly appreciate this extra effort because my mom is stubborn and I thought she was set in her ways. But surprise, surprise, she actually flushes the toilet more often now and does a much better job of taking care of herself and forming better habits. I'm grateful that her caregiver is persistent and gently nudges her in the right direction. I also have a good relationship with Yuko(owner) and her friendly and cheerful personality puts me at ease and I wholeheartedly trust her and her team to take care of my mom. I wholeheartedly echo the sentiments expressed by the other reviewers on this website regarding the superb services offered by Yuko Abeyama and her exceptional team at Nikoniko Home Care. When our mother passed away a few years ago, our father insisted on living on his own. My sibling and I would do our best to help him out, but we were also busy ourselves with full-time jobs. We were constantly worrying about him. Eventually, a friend of ours told us about Nikoniko Home Care. Even though our father was very resistant to receiving any kind of outside help, he felt comfortable around Yuko during her first visit to his house (she has such a compassionate and energetic personality) so he agreed to give Nikoniko services a try. That was over two years ago. Since then, Keiko has been coming once a week to cook him the most incredible Japanese food! This is something he looks forward to every week. Our father who is painfully shy also enjoys the summer picnics they host. Everyone is warm and friendly and seeing our father happy and healthy makes us healthier in spirit as well. The staff at Nikoniko is excellent with their communication. Keiko keeps us informed about our father's well-being on the message board and whenever we have questions about something, Yuko or Kimi respond right away. We are are also given updates on changes in any health protocols which is very helpful. For the quality of service that our father is receiving, the rates are very reasonable, especially when you compare it to other types of caregiving services which we have unfortunately experienced in the past. The team at Nikoniko Home Care is quite simply exceptional and we are full of gratitude for their expertise, professionalism and very big heart. Thank you Nikoniko!

Posting a Review received from a client.My elderly father was recently released from the hospital and he needed help with bathing/showering at home. We were given a list of 15 Home Health companies from Fraser Health for private pay options. Many of these companies required a 3 hour minimum for services and were not flexible on this issue. My dad only needed one hour. Working down the list, I phoned Nikoniko Home Care. They were very friendly, very compassionate, very knowledgeable and very flexible!! Yuko, the director, listened to my dad’s challenges and prepared a 2 hour service plan incorporating all his personal care needs, plus she suggested a few beneficial exercises and activities. My dad was very happy with Yuko and her work ethics. This company truly cares about their clients and their individual needs. Highly recommended! 5 stars!!! Anna B

Nikoniko Home Care Service has been a valued service for me for many years. Kyoko has been a comforting, and caring friend for my Mom, and myself, as my Mom has aged. Kyoko has been a reliable element in my Mom's life, as noted in my Mom's recent movement from one facility to another. As I live over 500 miles away, and with the recent Covid pandemic restrictions and unforeseen highway closures, my ability to travel and visit my mother these last couple of years has been severely hampered. My Mom has come through these times remarkably well and I attribute a lot of this success to Kyoko's help--I highly recommend this business due to the caring nature of the people that make up Nikoniko Home Care!!
