Update; I continue to take my kitty here, she loved her visits. This pic was her most recent one. She loved the vet. She was so well behaved for him.This place fixed my foster kittens and were great! Super friendly when I came in. And was really easy to pick them up.

Burtch Animal Hospital ordered in specialty dog food for me. I know first hand that they also do great work caring for rescued animals helping the Okanagan Humane Society. A clinic with a conscience, loving patient staff. Veterinarian David is knowledgeable and compassionate.

I would like to start by saying everyone was very friendly and helpful when I needed to get my dog in to see a vet urgently. However, he was misdiagnosed with a black eye rather than acute glaucoma. Due to his glaucoma not being treated within the first 24 hours (because of the misdiagnosis), it ended up costing me $10,000 and multiple surgeries and much pain for my dog. The specialist said if he was diagnosed when I brought him into the first vet… all of that could had likely been avoided. I do wish if the vet didn’t know how to properly examine an eye for such emergencies … he would’ve referred me elsewhere. This was a lot of money and a lot of pain and grief.

Our puppy went in for a neuter and came out two eggs short of a two-egg omelet. Happy with the service and demeanor of the staff.

I started taking my dog here about two years ago and initially the service seemed good. He developed a lump on his head about 8 months ago and every time I asked about it, it was disregarded and at one point I was told it was a bug bite. Recently he went back for a different issue and I had asked about the bump again as it was growing in size and once again was given no information other than the only way to deal with it was to be put under Anastasia and have a surgery. When I called back to see if I could get it looked at again or possibly tested I was sent a quote for a surgery costing $1100 for one bump removal and a few hundred extra for “both bumps to be removed.” The second bump being an umbilical bump that has been tested before and found to be unharmful. I took my dog to a different vet for a second opinion and they immediately tested the bump on his and had results back in minutes. Gave me good options for how to move forward and I paid less that $200. I was also informed that a surgery to remove the bump in the future would cost less than $300. I am extremely unhappy with the service. I am now questioning all the procedures and shots my dog had to go through during our last visits. After reading all the one star reviews I am wishing I had read them before taking him there because they all repeat the issues I encountered with my dog. Unnecessarily putting my dog under more than what was needed I am sure.

Dr. Dave is great! Patient and kind and has excellent bedside manner. He took great care of my dog on her first visit to the vet after moving to Kelowna. Thanks Dr. Dave !

Don't take your pet here to be put down or to be cremated after death. Two of the worst situations I've dealt with around passing pets have been here. EDIT: I have certainly been a client before but I am sat on hold currently after trying to call three times... And being bounced around with no one sure whom I should speak to. My initial review is even more accurate now.

I brought my dog who is very temperamental and can be hard to deal with and the ladies at this clinic handled him like their own. He usually has high anxiety and panics but handled the bloodwork being poked by a needle and didn't react negatively. I've brought my dogs and cats there and everyone treats me and my animals like family. I can't say enough good things about this clinic. Highly recommended to anyone with a family of fur babies.

My cat got her spayed last week. They did a great job！The small wound looks great. All staff were really friendly and patient. They answered all my questions and gave me useful advice. The price for cat spayed is reasonable and lower than the other hospital I asked.

Burtch Animal Hospital is the best! The staff are professional and amazing. The Doc’s are so kind and caring. . They treat my little chihuahua, Bella, who is not always friendly, like a princess❣️
