Cynthia's Place

Cynthia's place was a place for me to go when I was fleeing and abusive relationship. I'm forever grateful for this staff and services and just plain love and care that they showed me while I was staying there. Cynthia's place is meant for women who are fleeing abusive relationships you are homeless either single or with children. The house is a nice big home that I felt super safe in. Men are not allowed on the property due to obvious reasons. also your safety is their number one concern which made my stay there that much more comfortable. I do remember I had my own bedroom however I can't remember if sometimes you are asked to share a room or not. I would highly suggest Cynthia's place to any woman who is in a situation that they may need to be getting out of but don't want to end up homeless because of it. call Cynthia's place they do sometimes have a waiting list but if you call everyday and show them that you are in need and willing to do the work to get yourself in the door once you're in they have all the resources necessary to get you back on your feet and feeling stable and confident with you as a woman mother sister auntie or just a friend. Thank you Cynthia please for being there for me when I really needed you. there have been many women that I have tried to send your way hoping that they would take my advice and quit taking the abuse and make the phone call sometimes you have to wait I don't remember having to wait I think I may have been a lucky one but if you do have to wait I promise you it is worth every minute of it. Three great meals a day laundry snacks the internet telephone TV your own bedroom worker is there to talk to you 24/7 and other women who are in the same position that you are in . Stop the abuse it's up to you to take the first step pick up the phone and call Cynthia's please I promise it's worth it

The Cynthia’s Place staff are wonderful. They’re so kind and really do whatever it takes to work with the client. I tried to utilize some of the EFRY services, however, but I didn’t manage to get into contact with anyone. Cynthia’s is great but EFRY definitely needs improvement.

Staff are extremely judgmental towards the clients at this shelter and share inappropriate information with the clients emergency contacts in an effort to shame them. It’s labelled as a “safe place” but had me running within a month due to the way one staff member absolutely humiliated me to my family member. They don’t provide clients with proper diaper disposal, I had to purchase my own garbage can and didn’t even have a lamp in my bedroom. In regards to resources ect they really weren’t able to do much, Elizabeth fry couldn’t set me up with anything so I was basically screwed. They have a lot to improve on and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
