Dr.Fernandes and his staff are the best!!They are always so accommodating to our family and I. They go above and beyond to make sure we are always cared for. They get us in same day if it's an emergency, they even offer some after hour care. On top of all of this, I strongly believe Dr. John Fernandes is the best doctor in the city!!Highly recommend!!

I almost never write reviews, but in this case I think it is warranted. There are some bizarre things going on at this clinic. I had a consult well over a year ago for the removal of a small cyst on my scalp. Dr. Fernandez told me the government no longer covers the cost of this procedure and that he operates a non-profit clinic. Therefore, I'd have to pay for the cost of the equipment ( approx. $500), but he would do the procedure at no cost to me. I thought it was a bit fishy because I had the procedure done before at no cost, but I initially took his word for it. Several months later my procedure was scheduled. The receptionist sent me a reminder 10 days before. Unfortunately, I had a work trip planned and asked to reschedule so that I could swim, etc. The nurse told me that they could not reschedule and therefore, I owed them $250 for canceling within 14 days (note: they only sent a reminder 10 days before the procedure). By the time she told me this I had a covid exposure and said I couldn't come anyway, so I don't think I should have to pay. She told me it didn't matter that I was exposed (this was Jan. 2022 when omicron was raging). So I caved and paid. The next day I tested positive, so I called back after thinking about how ridiculous this was and asked for a refund. She told me sure, but only if I could get a PCR to prove it. This was when PCR tests were impossible to get, so I think she thought I'd be out of luck. But, by this point I was feeling highly suspicious of this whole operation, so I found a private company and paid them $200 to do a PCR just to get my $250 back. I was refunded and was not planning to write a review, but recently I finally had my consult with another clinic (I asked for a new referral after all this nonesense) and found out the entire procedure is covered by the government and there is no cost to the patient! If referred here, I strongly recommend requesting somewhere else.

Yet another bad experience regarding the receptionist. I called a week ahead of my consultation appointment to let them know I would most likely not make it to the appointment due to work and needing to leave the city for said work. I asked politely to see if there might just happen to be any cancellations for the week prior. Super rare I do realize but I figured it would not hurt to ask. She was immediately rude to me, asking why I only called a week ahead of time to discuss the appointment.Just in my particular situation, I had only learned of my work schedule the same exact day. I understand these offices are busy and the chances of getting an earlier appointment are extremely rare if not completely unheard of. Regardless, I still needed to let them know that I would not be able to make it to my consultation. And I was completely understanding of that situation, and in taking a much later appointment. (Which she never even scheduled me for.)Now knowing I didn’t really need to apologize to this woman, I still did anyway. My apologies did not change the receptionist’s attitude in any way and the call ended with me feeling very anxious.I recognize receptionists deal with plenty of snarky people in their work however returning the impoliteness to patrons who were not rude to begin with is just plain unprofessional.I am sure the doctor is wonderful however unfortunately my chances of us meeting or me receiving care from this clinic is significantly lower do this experience.So thanks lady…

Reception made me cry and I literally had to beg to rebook after I missed my appointment because I wrote down the wrong time while over the phone.I get the doctor has stuff he needs to accomplish in a day but I'm only human. she didnt need to be so outright rude, fees? fine I did miss an appointment, dehumanizing me at the drop of a hat? needless and unprofessional. (update: front desk staff were alot better when I went in and talked to them)

This is an unusually caring and attentive medical office. The Doctor is excellent and absolutely on point. The Nurses are caring and easy to communicate with. The staff at this clinic are very attentive and connected to the medical community at large. They called to check on me daily during my COVID infection, and they were pleased to help my parents book their vaccinations online because they didn't have a computer. My parents weren't even patients at the clinic. I do not normally post reviews because I think that they are worthless. Most reviews are posted by people who are unreasonably angry about one thing or another; but I thought I owed it to this Medical office for people to see an honest review by a normal bloke who I am certain represents the majority of opinions on this place. This is a place of excellence and I'm pleased to be patient here.

Had to rebook an appointment due to a conflict with work. Receptionist was very polite and worked quickly to fit me in ASAP. Had Doctor Fernandes as my family doctor for over 15 years, he truly is the most knowledgable family doctor and surgeon in Calgary. 10/10.

Dr John is the best of the best. He is extremely thorough. I have never had a better doctor! I trust him 100%

Applied for a job on Indeed. Job posting had no mention of medical experience. Recieved a message from them that asked;Why would you apply to a Medical Office Reception position that requires experience when you don't have any. We did not place an add for a line chef?"Rudest interaction I've ever had. Absolutely toxic.Edit: they are pursuing legal action against my google review! Something has to be done to the receptionist honestly. They are very rude, unprofessional and no sense of compassion at all. We were just asking if my dad can come still because he had a cough and his surgery is on his neck. We were just ASKING if that’s alright since it is a medical clinic and how much will his post surgery be affected because of his cough. She then started to be angry by saying “you don’t get to decide if you can come or not”. It went down hill from there and we just cancelled because they don’t deserve the money :) i won’t share more as you can see in the other reviews how GREAT their front end is :)If a very rude, and dehumanizing service is what you want, then by all means go ahead and come here.
