Potvin Construction

Potvin Construction (PC) is a primary subcontractor of Minto Communities (MC) and both are worthy of solid 4 stars from my previous experiences, however most recently they would only merit a 1 star. We purchases a home in February 2020 that was recently completed (November 2018) and come later in the spring it became apparent the exterior siding did not seem to be on par in comparison to our previous homes. The overall quality of the installation is poor, rows missing fasteners, poor alignment; lose trim that is clearly visible.I repeatedly contact PC and MC including an escalated to senior management in both companies to no avail. Neither company has sent a representative to our home to either confirm or deny my observations. This is despite the fact that many homes in our neighbourhood have been re-sided; plainly evident the PC had a major quality issue with the crew that had been assigned the work.While this was noted to MC just after three months out of the two-year warranty period, one would assume both companies to accept accountability because of the overall evidence of a major issue within this particular development.My advice to all potential buyers is to have your home professional inspected prior to the expiry of the warranty period; it will be a worthy expense to protect your largest and most important investment.

I ordered a new cabinet and handles. I went home and the screws didn’t fit and I didn’t know the holes are not pre-drilled. I was in the middle of staging pictures to sell my house tomorrow. I called and told them what happened and Suzanne called me back and went above and beyond her role. She lives near me and invited me over to help me with drilling and finding the right screw. I really didn’t know what I would do. People are viewing my house tomorrow. I am so greatfull for her help. She did not have to do that. Best people ever!!!! Best customer service in the world!

We recently added a pantry unit to a six year old Potvin kitchen in a MInto building. It took a while for our name to reach the top of the waiting list but, when it did, everything proceeded extremely well. The installation crew arrived on schedule and were finished in less than two hours. We needed an adjustment to the hinges and drawers which was done the same day as we contacted Potvin to let them know. Overall, we are totally pleased with the quality, installation, and follow-up service. Job really well done.

I am a potential customer but these reviews scare me. Would you assure me how you have improved?

While I can’t (yet) speak to the quality of construction as my home is not yet built, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the exceptional customer service I received from Potvin, specifically from Joey Guindon. We worked with him to design our kitchen and he was patient and professional. I went back and forth between certain design concepts and he made the necessary adjustments and worked with me in a very polite manner. His professionalism and knowledge were truly appreciated.

If I can give them no star at all, I would!! The worst Company we ever dealt with!!! Please dont deal with this stinky company to save you a hassle. First of all, they did a wrong measurement for our fridge to fit into our kitchen, so they needed to remeasure everything and make new cabinets. This was in November 2022.Now were in June of 2023, 6 appointments after, with repeated wrong measurements, wrong supplies, blaming coworkers, missed appointments, we are now left with cabinets without drawers. By the way, they told us that there are no drawers after they completely tear down that side of the kitchen. NOWWW THEY ARE TELLING US AGAIN TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER 5 WEEKS TO ORDER THE DRAWERS!?!I’m so over with this company! The worst company ever!!!

This is the worst cabinet and siding compagnie in Ontario a bunch of unqualified people who do shoddy work and have the worst reputations

I personally worked as a supervisor for this company and I was happy with my term I spent their. My boss was Tom, who was super supportive and all around great guy to work for. Upper management is approachable and on site once in a while doing check ups. Good team of guys in the field.

Great customer care when they are selling you something. Prepare to be ghosted after the install and things are not right. Missing panels, inserts, trim, mismatched handles. Crooked, damaged and rubbing doors. Can't get a hold of anyone. If you have to pick up anything from the back have fun dealing with attitude from some miserable guy who has no interest being there. Please give me a call to resolve the open issues.
