B&B Chimney Sweeps

We had a great experience with B&B. They were very professional and very reasonably priced. I will definitely use them in the future for cleaning and maintenance of the beautiful fireplace that they set up for us!

I don’t have a ton of experience with chimney sweeps but I can’t image anyone doing a better job then these guys. Our chimney sweep arrived on time and helped me move some of the furniture out of the way so he could clean the chimney without getting anything dirty. He diligently cleaned the chimney then helped me put everything back. Since I am a new home owner and never used a chimney before, he gave me some advice on how to light a fire and how to operate the chimney flume. Overall, B&B was super helpful and we’ll definitely hire them again when additional cleaning.

I received a bill that was not clear, and no before and after photos that I had been told I could get. They were unresponsive. When I did get to speak with them, the lady on the phone and subsequently the owner were impatient and nonchalant. The owner was especially frustrating to talk to. I could hardly get a word in. He stopped short of calling me a liar. He did not seem to believe that I asked about before and after photos prior to the requested service date. More information below.I had requested a chimney inspection and have two fireplaces. I still do not know whether any of my two flues were cleaned. I did not receive any before and after photos, even though I was told that I could request them after the service after the service was done. They sent me a quote for repairs. I did not ask for a quote. I asked for an inspection, so that I could know how safe or otherwise my chimney is. We bought the house recently and don’t live there yet. I was looking forward to a report with at least some details. The quote was asking for replacement/repairs of components that were marked as unsatisfactory. I was expecting a chimney inspection report, not a quote for $3885 without much details. The quote also contained a second page with a bill for $295, for the cleaning of one fireplace. The cleaning of my fireplace was not important to me. Knowing the state of my chimney flues was the most important thing.When I first called to clarify, One of their agents appeared confused as well and said there must have been a mistake. She concluded that the bill that I received was a mistake.When I called subsequently, I spoke with another lady and the company owner. They were both very impatient. The owner repeated himself a lot and would hardly give me a chance to speak. When I asked whether my flues were cleaned, he confirmed that my second flue was not cleaned. Basically, I can confirm that one fireplace was cleaned. I do not know whether my chimney was inspected or whether any flue cleaning was actually done.I’ll need to find another company to come inspect my chimney. Just trying to avoid death by carbon monoxide poisoning. I’d like to get the information that I need, in order for me and my wife to live in our new house safely.Note that I did not pay for the service. I would pay if the requested service was done and I do not know that it was done. There seems to have been a mistake with my service.

These folks installed a gas insert fireplace into the original fireplace. They were excellent to work with ,friendly and professional at a reasonable cost.

We had a great experience with B&B. We had two chimneys needing cleaning and also inspected. Joe was our technician and really impressed us with his punctuality, skill, thoroughness, communication, and attitude. He was really fun, nice, and chipper and walked us through everything he was doing and what needed to be done after his inspection. We asked a ton of questions and he patiently and thoroughly answered all of them. We will definitely be returning to B&B for our chimney repair/restoration and asking specifically for Joe.

I am so thankful for the knowledge that Larry has. He knew so much about our old fireplace (house built in 1900) & we feel completely safe using it. Finding experts can be hard to come by these days & when you finally find someone you trust, you want to tell everyone!Definitely not cheap, but the peace of mind is well worth the cost of inspection.We had a bad experience with another local chimney sweep which was also hundreds of dollars - so save your money & go directly to B and B, I highly recommend them.Thank you Larry.

B&B were generally wonderful to work with this past year! They rebuilt our historic home chimney from the attic space upward, brick by brick. They also cleaned out the chimney flue and (re)built a working gas fireplace for us in this home dating to the 1890s. We were under the impression we’d never have a functioning fireplace and they made the impossible happen for us! Only caveat I’d have and suggest for future customer-focused change would be to provide the customer a few options for what the fireplace face could look like, as we didn’t realize ours would shift to all black. Might’ve preferred a metal texture or option (if that exists)! But regardless, it looks and works overall great and we are loving both the new chimney aesthetic (up to historic home association code now*), and the gas fireplace. Thank you so much for working with us, too, when we were going through seemingly endless hoops with our underwriter for the reno (re)mortgage. 2021 was certainly one for the books for many homeowners. We appreciate B&B very much!

Probably would not recommend. I paid for an inspection, which turned out to be just paying for an estimate for the work the guy wanted to do. In my ignorance, I thought an inspection would be a complete evaluation of all components with a report of all defects, then a separate estimate detailing the costs to repair all defects. I was wrong and my chimney is still not in good, working condition after paying almost $6000. I guess they technically did what they said, the work was completed on time and cleaned up well. But, the flashing and sealant is not good, it has other issues and the quality of workmanship could use improvement, especially at the mortar joints. Close up photos are of new brick and mortar.

We had used several different chimney sweeps before a significant chimney fire scared us last year. We were lucky to find Larry and his crew - turns out the previous sweep really did not know what he was talking about when it came to our fireplace insert. The old unit was obsolete, and dangerously installed. Larry's recommendations were spot on. After the install, the new insert had a mysterious hissing noise and Larry came out three times for several hours, twice completely de-installing the unit, communicating with the manufacturer and troubleshooting until he solved the problem - modifying the damping at the top of our chimney. These guys are about getting it right, and I recommend them highly.
